I love this office and their staff! Patti at the front desk is amazing! She is friendly and always remembers me. It is so nice to call in or walk in and feel like family. She does her job so well. She knows the dental plans and how/what they cover. She calculates my portion and I never get a bill down the road. Lisa is my primary hygienist. She is fabulous the the reason for my review.

She also always remembers you. But my favorite thing is how attentive and thorough she is her attention to detail, time commitment and thoroughness is what keeps me coming back. When I told them I didn't prefer one of the cleaning methods she happily manually scrapped teeth clean. She also educates and shares how and why you should take care of your teeth and gums. This team is about the patient. I never feel rushed or not properly taken care of.

There must be better dentists around here. I have been a patient here for over 2 years. When I first began coming here the service and treatment was fine. I was encouraged enough that I even decided to do the Invisalign treatment. However things quickly went downhill. There are multiple dentists and assistants that work here and I don't remember their names, so I will refer to them only by the service they offered. The dentist that runs the Invisalign program constantly harped on compliance with the program. It made me feel like a lab rat. She clearly cares more about retaining her preferred provider status with the vendor than what her patients are going through. I got in trouble for not taking pictures of my teeth in their app. When working on my teeth as a dentist her chair-side care was entirely lacking. On one occasion it felt like she was trying to rip my cheek in two while injecting the numbing drug. Rarely did any of the dentists use enough of that at first to completely deaden the treatment area.

Other treatment in the chair was borderline abusive. I have had my lip stuck with the numbing needle not once, but twice, in the same sitting. I have had to swallow debris and had the rinse jet shot down my throat on multiple occasions. More than once I have been in the chair for 5 hours or more, and eventually had to start giving them a timeline to get work done. They don't plan ahead and aren't very careful in the chair. No expectations were ever set about how long I would be in the chair on any visit. The Invisalign treatment was interrupted because scans couldn't be taken for the long-term retainers due to cavities and crowns that had to be repaired and replaced. These should have been identified before the Invisalign treatment had begun, and yes, they were bad enough there should have been some evidence of those problems back then. Lately there has been no communication about Invisalign trays or retainers being ready. No phone calls, no voice mails, no text messages, no emails, nothing. I am currently waiting, and have been waiting for over 2 months, for news of my permanent retainers being ready. Yes, I could call them. They probably have them sitting forgotten in a drawer somewhere, just like they have forgotten about me.

But I'm waiting to see how long it takes them to figure out that I'm still waiting. And if my teeth shift back to their crooked state while they're trying to figure that out, then. . . well. . . I'll be seeking reimbursement of my part of the $5000 I spent for that service. Regardless of how that plays out they will not be touching my teeth again. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere that can do same-day crowns. That alone delayed the completion of my invisalign treatment by almost a month (and counting).

I'm going to start off by saying I've been a patient at this office for over 15+ years, I drive all the way from University Place, pass several dental offices to get to this one, from door to door it takes me 45 mins. I have NEVER. . . . EVER. . . . experienced such RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL. . . . hands down NOT acceptable behavior from ANY front desk office in AMERICA LOL. I'm laughing out loud because I can't believe the OWNERS of this practice has not done a single thing about alll the complaints. On Friday Nov 1st, 2024 I had routine cleaning. I knew something was VERY OFF when I called the day before to see if there were any cancellations for Thursday. Emma the "office manager" answered the phone. . . her tone of voice, her constantly talking over me (mind you this is probably a 45 second call to see if anything opened up) I didn't think much of it, but realized very quickly the next day. . . who I was working with. I get my routine cleaning, the Doctor pushed for me to get botox for my TMJ, tight jaw muscle caused by stress/grinding. I'm back with my hygienist Lisa, who I LOVE. You really can tell when someone is very passionate about their job. She remembers my son's vacation-asked about particular things we spoke about 6 months prior at my last cleaning. THIS is the type of person Lisa is. We were wrapping up, and I asked if we were doing the fluoride treatment. . she asked "Oh do you want it?" I said yes, mint please. I go to check out, I approach Emma. I can immediately feel this lady's bad attitude and energy.

I'm waiting on a quote for a crown they suggested. She tells me it's $25. Me: For. . . ? I have the office insurance that takes care of both of my cleanings. . . Emma: For your flouride Me: I've never paid for this. . . ever. . . Emma: Well last week at a staff meeting we decided to change this and you signed for it. Me: WHEN did I sign for this? Emma: In 2017, you should have asked!!!! Me: Wait. . . you just said LAST week at your staff meeting you guys changed this policy and that I SIGNED in 2017. . . . . none of this makes sense. Can I speak to YOUR manager. . . Emma: I'm the office manager. Me: Can I speak to the owners? I need to talk to the owners Emma: I'm the office manager. Previous to my situation with Emma, there was an older disgruntled gentleman sitting in the lobby also waiting. . . . so I'm not sure if she was already fired up from him and taking it out on me, or if this is just who she is.

Based on the consistent (recent) reviews it sounds like this is an Emma thing in general. I demand a refund, at this point, my hygienist comes up and says to Emma, she does NOT have to pay the $25 for the fluoride treatment. . . . her contract comes with this service. For those of you reading this review. . . it's NOT about the $25 service. I was about to pay $1300 cash (not insurance) for my crown that I needed. And I would have gladly made the appt to do so. This business lost all of my future business, I have in the 15 years referred my son's dad, a family of 5-that all have since said the same thing about the decline in customer service since Patti left. . . and he has referred several family members. As a consumer, we have lots of options to take our hard earned money to businesses that provide BASIC customer service, we don't need to drive 45 mins to be attacked verbally by the front desk manager. I may be one patient, but please don't underestimate all the future referrals you are losing over "$25" which after waiting almost 3. 5 weeks for Emma to "refund me" I had to call my bank and ask for a charge back-do not look good from a business perspective. There's something to be said about Patti who has worked there for over 20+ years. . . her kindness. . . willingness to fix any issue. . patience in rescheduling has been stellar. You lost the heart+soul to your business when she left. Message to the owners: if you are reading this and have not had a serious conversation with your "office manager" or noticed that EVERY single long term employee has left your company. . . you are doing a disservice to your business+ community.

Over the last several years, my experience at Puyallup Park Dental has been consistently excellent. The hygienists and front office staff are professional, caring, compassionate, and joyful. This is a lot to say for a dentist's office, and it's what makes this place special.

Now, let's get to the Dentists! If you are anxious about more invasive dental work, DO NOT GO THERE! In my 50-some years, I have never been treated so poorly by the two "Doctors" who performed my dental procedure and exam. If you want to talk with your Dentist, don't go there. If you are interested in a rushed exam (2 minutes long), an in-person lecture on your current state, or if you like to be talked over, not allowed to finish asking a question, or made to feel like you are an incompetent individual, GO THERE!!!!!! Please give them your money! When you ask them to allow you to finish talking, they continue to talk over you and then walk away.

These so-called "Doctors" need to return to school and take bedside manners classes. You can tell that their bottom line is the money in their bank accounts. Good luck, folks! I'm out!
