Detailed Introduction

Rapha Dental Care, located at 2913 N Narragansett Ave, Chicago, IL 60634, is a well-regarded family dental practice committed to providing high-quality, compassionate dental care to the community. While there appears to be another "Rapha Dental LLC" in Cinnaminson, NJ, which shares a similar name and service philosophy, the user's provided information clearly points to the Chicago location. Under the leadership of Dr. Thu Nguyen, the clinic offers a broad spectrum of dental and orthodontic services for both children and adults. Their comprehensive approach addresses various dental needs, from routine preventive care to complex restorative and cosmetic procedures. Key services typically include: General Dentistry: This encompasses regular check-ups, cleanings, fillings, and addressing common dental issues to maintain overall oral health. Cosmetic Dentistry: Patients seeking to enhance their smiles can explore options like veneers, teeth whitening, and cosmetic crowns. Restorative Dentistry: For those with damaged or missing teeth, Rapha Dental Care provides solutions such as dental implants (a permanent solution for missing teeth), bridges, and dentures. Endodontics: Root canal treatments are available to save infected teeth. Pediatric Dentistry: The practice is equipped to handle the unique dental needs of younger patients, making it a suitable choice for families. Extractions: When a tooth cannot be saved, extractions are performed with a focus on patient comfort. Sedation Dentistry: Recognizing that many patients experience anxiety related to dental visits, Rapha Dental Care often offers options like laughing gas (nitrous oxide) to help patients relax during procedures. Rapha Dental Care prides itself on creating a comfortable and safe environment for its patients. Testimonials often highlight the professionalism, kindness, and efficiency of the staff, as well as the advanced equipment used in the clinic. The practice emphasizes clear communication, ensuring patients are well-informed about their treatment options and costs before any work is done. Their philosophy seems to revolve around a patient-centric approach, where individual needs and comfort are prioritized to deliver effective and long-lasting dental solutions. The name "Rapha" itself, derived from Hebrew, means "to heal" or "make healthful," reflecting the clinic's core mission.

Please stay away from this place!!! Horrible office staff! I sent my whole family here and they all stop going because of the in incompetence. The dentist Dr Nguyen seems nice but not the greatest work. She took 3 to 4 hours on my husband, which normally takes one hour because she was going in between other patients which I find pretty disgusting. My issue with them is every time I call you have there is an option to press one if your new patient press two if your existing patient. I always press two and they always ask me if I’m a new patient. Please don’t have the option if you’re not gonna utilize it it’s quite annoying. Sometimes I call to find out if they have a time and day. And they’re asking about my insurance information which they already have their system, but I don’t want to go that far unless you have the date and time that I need. I was super annoyed with them and stopped going to them for eight months, but I decided to give them another chance. I wanted a Saturday and they asked me which office and I told them which ever office is open on Saturday. So they gave me the office on Elston which i thought was weird because they are usually closed Saturdays.

Only to get a phone car before the appointment they it was at he Narragansett office. 🤦‍♀️ So I came in today and I’m supposed to have my wisdom teeth taken out and a deep cleaning. . Came in at my scheduled time and the office staff mentioned that I had a $30. 80 co-pay for today’s visit. I asked if I can pay it over the phone because I wanted to use my flexible spending account. She proceeded to asked the office manager and was told no. I called my son to ask him to bring the card in. I figured I would be there for at least an hour so he should be able to bring it at some point. . After 30 minutes of being there and noticing them taking people that came after me, I decided to look at the sign in sheet because I thought maybe they were scheduled before I was only to realize that they were not so I asked the office staff if they were intentionally skipping me because They were waiting for my son to come with the card.

They told me yes that is why they were skipping me. . I was infuriated. They could’ve told me that and I would’ve used one of my debit card. But instead, they just let me stay there which is very ignorant of them. I don’t know what kind of low class patients they are accustomed to skip someone ( without telling them) because you didn’t get the $30. 80 payment for work that has not been done yet. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Please go somewhere else! Office staff is not are not bright! Dental work is OK but not worth the headache!

Be careful coming here!! First of all the staff here are very nice and their equipment is modern and clean BUT… I came here when i had medicaid and the dentist told me that i needed a deep cleaning. She told me i needed to wait 2-3 weeks to get an answer from my insurance to see if they cover it. She then told me that my insurance rejected the procedure because it wasn't covered. I asked for a regular cleaning in the mean time since it was covered and she said that she wont do it because theres no point if i needed a deep cleaning and i might as well pay $1000 out of pocket for the deep cleaning. Fast forward to today and i have great insurance and i went back and she still told me it'll take 2-3 weeks for my insurance to let me know if they approve it and she insisted they will not and i should just pay out of pocket since i desperately needed the deep cleaning.

I went to another dentist and they told me i did not even need a deep cleaning. I just needed a regular cleaning. Out of curiosity i asked if my insurance covered deep cleanings. They were able to tell me in seconds and showed how much my insurance covers. It’s sad that dentist nowadays try and do unnecessary and possibly harmful procedures just to make money.

Needless to say this isn't the only location that does these kind of shady things. Always get a 2nd or 3rd opinion before having any procedures done. Hope this helps anyone considering going here.
