Another positive experience. The staff is always pleasurable, efficient, and respectful. The Doctor is very good, I required several procedures and each time she has done an excellent job. She is always checking to ensure the pain is minimal, or non-existent.

The resultant work is top notch. I have had many bad experiences in the past with other Dentists, and I am so happy I finally found one that has gained my confidence and performs such excellent work.

My family and I have always had wonderful service all around with Reston Station Dental and Pal Dentistry. We usually see the terrific Dr. Pernia, but all the doctors, technician-hygienists, and staff have always been great to interact with. They have also always been clear about recommendations, services, and pricing. All around great experience.

BEWARE. These people will tell you that you're covered for services when you aren't. Story below. Jan 1 2025, new dental plan through my employer that covered my husband and I. Husband goes for a standard checkup - dental cleaning, xrays etc. Nothing exotic - just an annual check. He presented his new insurance that morning and the person who checks insurance told him "you have great insurance". No concerns, no discussion about how this is out of network or not covered or WHATEVER. Husband has his services.

Come to find out that the receptionist made a mistake, and that mistake was that they were totally out of network for his services and therefore NOTHING that day was covered. This happened *after the fact*. They tell him that they'll only charge him what the insurance would have reimbursed. Oh really? We have a friend who ran the insurance function for our long-time dentist (who retired) who flatly told us we shouldn't pay. When that issue was raised with the dentist *who made the mistake*, they told him his account would be turned over for collections. These people pushed an email out earlier today promoting a "Botox event" discussing TMJ and aging and "reserve your space" etc. When my husband was told he would need crown repair in the future, they tried to sell him on implants. Forgive me if I don't want a dentist who makes mistakes about coverage and then tries to upsell a bunch of other random stuff. It makes even good, necessary services suspect.

Imagine if we had been living paycheck to paycheck (like so many) and had been told that routine semi-annual care was covered and then told that - oopsie - it's not, and we couldn't pay the balance? Their answer according to other reviews here: "Well, we'll turn this over to collections". THEIR mistake, not ours. We were told it was covered. I would expect this office to know with whom they are in network! Any contractor who made a mistake would absorb the cost of that mistake *and* the cost to correct the mistake. This is no different. To be clear: the complaint here is about business practices, not the quality of their work. That said, there are many fine dentists in the area who are covered by our insurance, and we would have gone to one of them rather than get hit with a bill based on bad information provided by the practice prior to service being rendered.
