Dr. Rick is great but the front desk staff lack basic office skills. Took my son there since he was 2 and was told at 5 they will no longer be accepting my insurance for new patients. This hurt me because while they would accept my son they would not accept my daughter who was turning 3 very soon and needed an exam. So i told them in person we would be switching to another dentist. Now that we have the insurance they accept, I called to make an appointment for my son who needs to see a specialist which Dr.
Rick is, they tell me they cannot make an appointment with me because i missed his last 2 appointments. They claimed they never stopped taking my first insurance and I never told them we would not be making anymore appointments. Very rude on the phone. Basically called me a liar. Which honestly if they never told me they would not take new patients with my insurance I would still have both my kids going there. I really liked it there.
Also never received any letters in the mail for appointments or phone calls. And i never scheduled any after we left there. They really need new people handling the schedules and phones.

I called about taking my 6-year-old autistic son to this office because he has a broken molar and the receptionist was awful. She said she wouldn’t look until four months out and that it was my own fault if I’m upset about it. My son has been screaming in pain and I was told this is a dental emergency. I don’t know who peed in her cheerios but this is the only office in our town that takes his insurance, so now he just has to live with a broken tooth and I don’t know what we’re supposed to do.
I think she just didn’t want to deal with a disabled child. Will absolutely be pursuing legal action.

At this point my daughter has had 3 appointments zero care and all staff has been completely rude. We haven't even seen the actual doctor yet. The do not care about your tike all 3 appointments they did nothing and before even making the appointment knew they wouldn't be able to do anything first because even though they knew for weeks ahead of time that my daughter has a VSD they never sent a approval to her cardiologist so we went there and sat for 2 hours for them to tell me that they won't touch her without a approval. Next they had us come in to "try" and look at her then referred for her to undergo anesthesia for detal work then wanted me to come back to go over hospital procedures.
My daughter is special needs has had 14 surges in her life and has 5 specialist and we have never had anything like this. After all of this my insurance denied one part of the deal care under anesthesia and requested that they changed a code. Dr Rick's office is refusing to change the code and demanding I pay out of pocket before they do anything. They have been just rude and continuously told me that nobody gets this covered and the lady I spoke to in billing Leaa H who refused to give her last name said in 20 yrs she's never changed this code for anyone and that she's never got this covered.
My insurance isn't even understanding why they are refusing so much and have offered to do a 3 way call with them and they won't do that either. At this point it feels like there is some insurance fraud going on and they are just trying to get whatever money they can.

Dr. Rick is one of the best dentists that I have ever been to. We were referred to him during the pandemic and yes it did take a while to get in totally understandable but once you are in its honestly so worth the wait. My daughters' top teeth were terrible, and Dr.
Rick capped them, and she now has really pretty teeth. She loves to smile now! So thankful for Dr. Rick and his staff they are truly wonderful! Don't read the bad reviews, go to him and see how he is yourself! You won't regret it =)
