I transferred my perio care to Ridge Periodontics in 2020 due to my concerns and questions regarding my perio health not being addressed at another perio clinic. At my initial exam (full mouth exam with current x-rays) Dr Hemmerich discovered the cause of one of my concerns (i. e. , broken and infected tooth under a crown) that needed immediate treatment, antibiotics, then extraction. As this work was being done, the source of the other problems I was experiencing came to light. This previously undiagnosed infection had done significant damage (i. e.

, traveled along the bone and caused a previously placed and successful implant to become compromised and the implant needed to be removed). Since 2020 I've been successfully treated for the initial infection, had a tooth removed, bone grafting, an implant placed, additional bone grafting, a sinus lift, and a second implant placed. Today I had the stitches removed from the second implant surgery, and Dr. Hemmerich examined this implant again before I left, to ensure everything healed as it should. Yes, it has been a long process to get my perio health in order again, however she walked into a mess because the previous perio office did not do their job and they ignored my concerns. I shudder to think what my oral health outcome could have been because unchecked oral infections can be deadly. Recovery from oral surgery is different for everyone, but in my experience it is always managed with ibuprofen, salt water rinse and an antibiotic rinse - as were all of mine and I had no issues.

Dr. Hemmerich is knowledgeable, thorough and stands behind her work. I've had several hygienists at Ridge perform my perio cleanings, and they all have done a very good job. My experience with every staff member at Ridge had been positive - everyone has been pleasant, helpful and kind! As you can see, I've had several extensive procedures - and cleanings - in three years, and I highly recommend Ridge. I'm very glad I transferred my perio care to Ridge and everything is back on track!

Both Dr. Caitlin Hemmerich and her clinical team have excellent bedside manners, provide useful clear advice, are open for questions, and deliver great care both in-office and post-operatively.
