Going to the dentist is not one of my more favorite things to do but I will have to say I had a nice experience. I went in for a cleaning and the dental hygienist, Pamela, was very nice as well as very gentle. Dr. Dani Howell, who is the 3rd generation Howell, was very nice as well.

My husband and I were patients at the downtown location of RL Howell and associates for approximately 4 years. They always did a fantastic job of cleaning our teeth at every visit and helped us address some other dental issues with little stress. Sadly, we moved out of state three years ago. I still haven’t found a dentist locally that can live up to the standards I got used to.

Thank you guys and gals so much for the care we received. You really set the bar very high.

I was a patient here for a few years & never had any issues until recently. I had a visit in June 2021 wherein I requested a quote for a procedure & I was told they would determine how much (if any) my insurance would pay toward said procedure. Fast forward to my next visit, which was yesterday. I still don’t have the information regarding the amount of my insurance contribution & it has been 6 months since the initial inquiry! I called 3 times between June & now (Dec. 2021) & each time I was told that they were awaiting a call back from my insurance.

No one ever called me back or gave me any indication that there was any action I needed to take. I mentioned the issue to my hygienist yesterday & she indicated she would check on the issue for me. This afternoon, I still didn’t have the information so I called to follow up again & was placed on hold for over 10 minutes. I finally hung up, then immediately called back, telling them to go ahead & cancel any future appointments I had scheduled. Waiting 6 months & only calling in 3 times during that period shows that I have been more than patient.

My children go to Gwaltney Dental & that office has never had a problem contacting my insurance company or obtaining information needed so I’ll be transferring there. I am beyond frustrated with Howell Dentistry & disappointed that I have to make this change but I feel I’ve been left with no other option. It’s 6 months later & my procedure could have been well underway by now had the staff at Howell Dentistry followed up & communicated with me.
