Detailed Introduction

The Rural Dental Health Project, located at 401 W Main St, Merrill, WI 54452, functions as a dental clinic specifically established to address the critical need for accessible oral healthcare in rural communities. While specific details about their comprehensive services are not readily available through direct online sources for this exact entity, the context of "Rural Dental Health Projects" in Wisconsin and nationally suggests they are typically driven by a mission to reduce oral health disparities. These types of initiatives often aim to provide a range of essential dental services, which may include preventative care such as cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants, especially for children. Given the challenges faced by rural populations, such as limited income and lack of insurance, clinics like the Rural Dental Health Project frequently work to offer affordable or low-cost dental options, sometimes accepting Medicaid (ForwardHealth Card), BadgerCare Plus, and assisting uninsured individuals. The broader landscape of rural oral health initiatives in Wisconsin, as highlighted by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health, emphasizes the importance of increasing access to quality oral healthcare, integrating oral health into primary care, and supporting clinics in underserved areas. It is highly probable that the Rural Dental Health Project in Merrill operates within this framework, collaborating with local health departments or community organizations to extend their reach and impact. Their efforts likely contribute to improving the overall well-being of residents in Merrill and the surrounding Lincoln County area, where affordable dental options can be limited. The project's existence signifies a commitment to tackling the unique barriers to dental care, such as geographic isolation and economic constraints, that are prevalent in rural settings.

Extremely dissatisfied. Was lied to, told my rotting tooth cannot be pulled today. Tried to schedule me for a tooth cleaning and cavity excavation over the next month and a half, and maybe pull the tooth bothering me in February of next year. They just wanted to tap my state health insurance for all they could before they pulled my tooth.

Recommend Marshfield clinic instead. Pulled my tooth in one day, and didnt try to charge me for extra stuff.
