The
Rural Health Corporation: Monroe-Noxen
Dental Center is a vital component of the broader Rural Health Corporation of Northeastern Pennsylvania (RHC), a 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (
FQHC). Established in 1971, RHC's core mission is to bridge healthcare gaps by providing accessible, comprehensive, and preventive medical and dental services to residents of all income levels, with a particular focus on the indigent, uninsured, and underserved populations in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Monroe-Noxen Dental Center, located at PA-29, Noxen, PA 18636, is one of three co-located dental centers within RHC's network of nine medical centers and a homeless clinic.
As an FQHC, the Rural Health Corporation receives partial funding from the federal government and private foundations, enabling them to offer services on a discounted sliding fee schedule based on the Federal Poverty Level guidelines. This commitment to affordability ensures that quality
dental care is not out of reach for those who need it most.
The Monroe-Noxen Dental Center provides a wide array of essential
oral health services, including:
Oral Health Assessments and Examinations: Comprehensive evaluations to form the basis of treatment plans, utilizing dental X-rays to identify cavities and other needs.
Cleanings: Professional removal of plaque, tartar, and stain deposits to prevent or slow the progression of periodontal diseases.
fillings: Addressing cavities to prevent tooth loss and further complications.
Extractions: Performed when teeth are beyond salvage due to decay or infection.
Bridges: Permanent solutions for filling gaps left by missing teeth, supported by
crowns on adjacent healthy teeth.
Partial or Full Dentures: Replacing missing teeth for improved pain relief, chewing function, digestion, and appearance.
Prevention: Procedures like sealants, fluoride treatments, and oral health education, along with providing dental hygiene supplies to patients.
Referrals: Connecting patients with complex oral health needs to community partners when specialized care is required.
The Monroe-Noxen facility also houses a pharmacy, participating in the Federal 340B Pharmacy Program, which supports the pharmaceutical needs of patients across all RHC centers. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, ensuring consistent access to care. The dedicated team, including dentists like Dr. Hemali Javia, is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to the Monroe-Noxen community and beyond.
