Detailed Introduction

Sadler Health Center is a prominent non-profit organization recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), dedicated to advancing community health. Its origins trace back to 1921 when the Carlisle Civic Club's Welfare Committee identified a critical need for a clinic to serve underserved children, marking the beginning of a sustained effort to improve public health. Headquartered at 100 N Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013, Sadler Health Center has expanded its reach to multiple locations, including Perry County and Mechanicsburg, PA, to serve a broader community. The organization operates under a patient-centered medical home model, accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. Sadler Health Center offers a wide array of integrated health services, including: Primary Medical Care: Comprehensive care for all ages, including family medicine, pediatrics, women's health, and express care for urgent needs. Dental Services: General and preventative dental care. Behavioral Health Services: Support for mental health and addiction recovery, integrating these services with primary care. Supportive Services: This includes insurance enrollment assistance, community health worker programs that connect patients with essential resources like food security, housing, and transportation, and an on-site pharmacy. They also offer nutrition counseling and lab testing. A key aspect of Sadler Health Center's mission is its commitment to accessibility and affordability. They welcome all patients, including those who are uninsured, underinsured, or have government-sponsored insurance like Medicaid or CHIP, and offer a sliding fee discount program based on household income and size. Sadler Health Center is deeply involved in the community, not only through its direct patient services but also through partnerships with various organizations and a strong volunteer program. Their impact is significant, serving thousands of patients annually through tens of thousands of visits. For example, in 2024, they provided care to over 12,200 individuals through more than 46,300 visits across all locations, with a particular highlight being the fully operational West Shore Center that alone facilitated over 13,300 visits to nearly 5,000 patients in its first year. The organization has received recognition for its community outreach efforts, including the 2022 Health Care Hero Award from the Central Penn Business Journal.

I used dental office a few times. . when checking in the front lady seemed a mess. She had food on the desk, applying chapped stick, was trying to say my insurance covered which I explained it did not, and over all just seemed messy. The flooring through out the whole dental area was ripped up and looked like a construction zone. I was there for a filling and all that was done was X-rays then the dentist blew some air in my mouth room a look around for a minute then said ok go make a appointment for a filling and cleaning…….

. what on earth was the point of that. That was a filling appointment and a waste of time/money. Doesn’t really seem like anyone knows what they are doing. I think I’ll be finding another dental office.

I absolutely love the staff here. They are extremely caring and very helpful. Mary, Steve, and Jennifer are 3 staff members of many who go over and beyond to help there clients get the resources needed. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone.

Sadler health is far better than it use to be. They're better organized, nursing staff was always excellent, friendly, helpful and courteous. I love the doctor I see. Very thorough, and answers all my questions.

Everyone at Sadler is so kind and respectful. The receptionists are helpful and understanding. The nurses and doctors explain everything and listen carefully. My whole family has had a wonderful experience there.
