Shady Grove Pediatric Dentistry: Dr Bana Ball

This review is for Bana Ball. I meant to write this review long time ago but never got the chance. I had the worst experience that any mom with a young child who is attending their child’s first dentist appointment would have with this dentist. She could not handle my toddler who was crying hysterically. She was struggling to get my son’s teeth cleaned. She is a pediatric dentist so she should know how to do her job under these circumstances. Toddlers are afraid of dentists especially if it’s their 1st appointment. She became rude and judgmental and after torturing my son she said that all his back teeth, top and bottom have cavities and said that the only treatment would be to put him under general Anesthesia.

I asked if there is any other alternative. She said there is none. She was not even sincere. I left the office crying. I called another dentist for a second opinion. And what a difference. This dentist was patient, understanding and very professional. My son did cry as expected but this dentist was super patient and made both me and him comfortable.

After examining my son, she said that he has only two cavities. She recommended applying a treatment to prevent the cavity from getting worse. His 2 cavities are under control and my son is their patient since then. He is 4 years old now and he loves his dentist. Dr Ball if you can not do your job when a toddler is too afraid to open his or her mouth, just be honest and say you can not do it and let another dentist handle it. And don’t say there is no other alternative even if you believe it’s not the right treatment because parents make the decision for their child not you.

My 4 year old absolutely LOVES going to see Dr. Ball - he even asks to go to the dentist when he doesn't have an appointment! We are always greeted with a friendly smile and never wait long, to my son's dismay because he loves watching movies in the waiting area and playing with all the books and toys!! Dr.

Ball and her team are very caring, patient, educational, nonjudgemental, and efficient. I can't wait to start bringing my two month old when it is his turn!

Everyone in the office was so kind and put my son at ease :) You will not find a kinder, more intelligent and capable dentist to take care of your family than Dr. Ball- I give my highest recommendation for her and her practice !!!

Wonderful pediatric dentistry practice. Dr. Ball is fantastic and she and her staff were so kind and gentle with my little one. My kiddo asks to go back to the dentist all the time now!
