It was my first visit to Smalltown Dental yesterday. I had to leave my long time dentist due to new insurance provider. I was apprehensive as I was with my previous dentist over 30 years! I was pleasantly surprised. Smalltown Dental did a great job accommodating my work schedule. I was able to schedule my cleaning within 30 days of my initial call. My hygienist, Miranda, was very pleasant, professional and informative. She did a great job explaining what to anticipate. My dentist, Anna, was friendly, reassuring, and competent.

I would definitely recommend. My 2 college aged children agreed . . . . they too had a favorable experience at Smalltown Dental earlier this month.

We’ve gone to SmallTown since they bought out our previous dentist’s practice. The hygienists have always been nice & the actual dental care was standard. However, we have always had a different dentist, so anyone building a rapport with a dentist should prepare to receive a new, young dentist (established dentists tend to leave—likely from the micromanaging of the owner). My last visit there had a few problems that prompted me to cancel any future appointments. 1. I had a new hygienist on top of a new dentist. I wasn’t informed that I would have anyone new prior to my arrival. When I asked where she was, they told me that she stays at home now.

I found out that she actually left for another dentist because of the poor mismanagement— I don’t appreciate being lied to and a quick “she no longer works here” would have been sufficient, but they chose to lie. 2. The new hygienist offhandedly asked if I wanted fluoride. I said sure and was not informed that it would be an additional cost. 3. When I belatedly received a bill, I mentioned the discrepancy to management. They asked for me to extend grace to them as they train, but that’s where it stopped. Grace without accountability is simply lip service.

They asked if the service was too much for me to afford, and honestly, a multi-million dollar practice being unwilling to absorb a $29 fee after admitting to poorly training their check-out staff and hygienist is distasteful. Moral of the story: this company does not care for its employees, which is why they constantly have new employees. They definitely do not care about patients and see them as business transactions. If you want depersonalized dental care, they will perform a sufficient task. However, if you want to find a regular dentist with a well-run practice, I encourage you to look elsewhere.

Everyone is so nice and they actually take the time to explain things if you have questions! I also really appreciate that they are very conservative/cautious when it comes to recommending fillings. I’ve been to so many dentists that are money-hungry and jump at any opportunity to schedule fillings, but here they focus on monitoring and prevention before they recommend extra work.

I have a lot more confidence in their expertise knowing that they’re not trying to take money for unnecessary services.

I can’t put into words how great the whole office has been since I started coming here for dental work. I feel welcomed and at ease as soon as I walk in the door and greeted by the front desk staff. Abby has been then best with my dental work and my dental anxiety. She explains everything she is going to do and takes thorough notes for each visit. Dr.

Anna has been great and does the same. Everyone is so gentle with my mouth and my dental anxiety. I actually get excited to come in for appointments. Thanks for everything!
