Appreciate Silence

This place has become horrible. I’ve been going there a few yrs. Last time I had my cleaning I developed a bad infection next day, 10 day antibiotic stint. But I decided to still go back and planned to tell them about it so they’d insure the instruments were sterilized properly. When I booked my next appt it was for a cleaning and exam with dentist, I told them “there’s a problem with one tooth so I need to see the dentist as well”. She said, oh ok I can’t fit you in on Saturday then it’ll have to be next week since you need to see the dentist. She booked me for Tues afternoon at 4:00 (yesterday). They called me at 3 and asked if I could come early, I said no. I had business mtgs all day. So I show up for my 4:00 appt, sat in the chair for my cleaning and told her about the infection last time snd asked her to make sure everything was sterilized properly. Then I said “the dentist will do the exam after the cleaning I guess??” She said “no there’s no dentist here”.

I got up, got pissed, we went to the front desk and I was told the dentist left early. That’s why they called me to come at 3 cause the dentist wanted to go home early. And when I couldn’t come she left anyway. I was angry as hell. I have never once been a no show for them, and if I were they’d charge me a no show fee I’m sure. They have no respect for patients or their time. I had to book time off work to schedule this appt. And this is not the first time this has happened and always when I’m booked on a Tues afternoon. I should never have accepted it previously either. I walked out this time. I decided they don’t deserve my business when they think they can treat people like this.

I live a hectic life and if they had cancelled my appt a couple of days in advance I would have been ok with it. But to be a no show for a patient again and to con me into still coming for a cleaning is horrible business practice. They also convinced myself and my husband that we both needed laser gum surgery multiple times in different areas, after telling me for yrs during every cleaning that my mouth is in good condition and very healthy and very clean. I went along with it until my insurance questioned as to why both my husband and me had so many of those surgeries all of a sudden. We trusted their professional judgement, but a lot of things have become concerning with this place now. I own rental apts in the area and everytime I get new people moving into the area for the first time they ask me for recommendations on dentists, doctors etc. I sent one tenant to this place and he had horrible experience and stopped going there. I’m going to take further action now because I’ve had enough and anyone who thinks they can disrespect patients and their time like this needs to be held accountable. And I have medical proof in my family doctors file of the infection they caused the last time. It’s time I stand up now and take this more seriously, no more letting things go or letting them get away with this.

Great experience at Smile Dentistry at Downsview Park! After many years without a dentist visit, I was impressed by their friendly staff, advanced equipment like a 3D scanner, and thorough cleaning. Prices are reasonable and insurance is accepted. Highly recommend!

Being one of the first customers when smile dentistry opened, and still here, I would say something good must be going on. 😁please don't hesitate to go in and let them meet your needs. The staff are very very nice and accommodating. Daphnie is my favorite but they all are amazing.

The atmosphere is nice the service is top notch. They are very professional They will always work with you no matter your situation. Check them out for yourself and confirm all i have to say. Happy cleaning!! 😁
