I had the pleasure of visiting Smile Design of Northern Virginia for a routine check-up and cleaning, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the warm greeting at the front desk to the meticulous care provided by the dental team, every aspect of my visit exceeded my expectations. Fara, the dental hygienist, deserves special recognition for her professionalism and gentle touch. She made me feel comfortable throughout the cleaning process and took the time to explain each step thoroughly. Her attention to detail and passion for oral health truly shone through, leaving my teeth feeling refreshed and sparkling clean.

Dr. Lam, the dentist overseeing my appointment, was equally impressive. Her expertise and reassuring demeanor put me at ease, and she took the time to address any concerns I had. I appreciated her thorough examination and personalized approach to my dental care, making me feel confident that I was in good hands. Overall, my experience at Smile Design of Northern Virginia was nothing short of excellent.

If I can rate them with a negative rating I would do that. I had multiple bad experience with them. I will never go to them again. They have no respect to their clients. My daughter went to them today for a filling and her appointment was at 1 pm they left her until 1:45 then they started working on her.

They numed her and started the filling then left her and went for a lunch break for 45 minutes. She had work at 3pm they left her and each time she ask the office administrator she tells her they are coming soon. They finally showed up at 3:05 and worked on her until 3:20pm. This is totally unacceptable and disrespectful to Their clients. She stayed in the office from 1 until 3:30 for a single filling.

Extraction: I had an extraction with them before with them and the doctor was so aggressive on my gums to the extent it took over a month to heal from the infection he caused me. cleaning: They do not do a good cleaning to my teeth. Even after cleaning my teeth is still not cleaned properly.

Upon my initial visit in Aug of ‘24 among other dental work needed i was told i had a crack in a tooth on the right upper side. Fast forward after multiple fillings, roots canals and crowns on multiple teeth im still experiencing pain on the cracked tooth which only has a filling. I reported this and had to wait roughly 5 weeks for a Saturday appointment as my work schedule permits. It was today 6/21 at 8:30. I waited an hour which is considered short for this office. I told her when i eat on that side “bananas, fruit it is sensitive”. Jokingly Dr. Lam “dont eat”.

I wasn’t amused because im in pain. She then tells me she needs to adjust the bite. Now im no dentist but if i say my tooth is sensitive to fruit and cold, and air that she blew in it to test it what does that have to do with my bite. I didn’t argue i let her proceed but reminded her that SHE pointed out I had the crack. She insisted on adjusting the bite first. She began and of course it was painful. She numbed me and proceeded with adjusting the bite. Then she asked if i felt anything.

You just numbed me of course i don't feel anything. Then she puts desensitizer and says if i need them to call during the week. Before she started she asked if i had plans i told her depends on what time i get out. I guess she took that as a way to not do what she knows should be done which my guess would take way more time than she had to service the growing amount of patients coming in. I’ve been happy with her up until today. She had a very condescending and dismissive attitude towards me today but she’s usually very warm and pleasant.

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr Lam. After the dental work, some of my teeth were shaved down excessively without any consultation, leaving them extremely sensitive and nonfunctional. When I pointed this out, instead of taking responsibility, I was pushed to consider a root canal, which I found completely inappropriate.

This has been one of the worst dental experiences I’ve ever had, and I would not recommend Dr Lam to anyone.
