I've been doing Invisalign Express since March 2024, and the staff at Smile Doctors have been so supportive. My local team is responsive, quick to address concerns and extremely caring at each in-person visit! I highly recommend their office! Update: I completed my treatment today and I could not be more thrilled!! At 49, confidence is everything!

If you have a challenging dental profile like I do, I would not recommend this location. Smile Doctors Orthodontics has a friendly staff, but they struggled to implement the Invisalign treatment they planned for me, so much so that I was always anxious about my treatment here and often frustrated with my results and experience overall. I am now receiving care elsewhere and finally feel satisfied since leaving this location. Some of my specific issues for those curious: I signed up for Invisalign in April 2023 during a consultation with Jennifer.

When I met with the Orthodontist a week later, I was advised that my treatment would require additional work beyond what was discussed, which is reasonable, but I immediately regretted having signed up without first speaking with the Orthodontist. The additional work included braces, which I have since been informed were executed poorly because they were applied to just three of my bottom teeth and anchored to a problematic tooth. As a result, the braces did not yield the intended results and instead dislodged nearby teeth. The partial braces also delayed my Invisalign by six months despite having provided no benefit.

When I finally got my aligners in October 2023, I discovered the Orthodontist had designed them to neglect two of my most challenging bottom molars, a decision she said was justified because she wanted me to have the molars extracted eventually, a plan that did not have my consent. There were other minor issues, but I’ll leave it at that. Although the staff is warm and inviting (Jennifer in particular was very kind and patient), this place is likely a better fit for those looking for simple procedures like teeth whitening rather than advanced orthodontic work.

They’re truly an amazing group of people. Jennifer knows her stuff and gets things done, Aree is always warm and friendly, and Dr. Schmidt is funny and competent. They were super flexible with my treatment, as I was out of town for most of the year. They always made sure to see me when I came home during my breaks from school, and ensured my progress was going well from afar.

When I had an issue with my retainer after treatment was already finished, they sent me an entirely new ($200!) retainer for free. They were under no obligation to do so (I already signed release papers), which speaks to their dedication to their patients. Super happy with the treatment and grateful for everyone here! Definitely recommend checking them out.

Wonderful, helpful, kind staff. Prices are very very reasonable compared to other ortho places in Dane County. They are very responsive and helpful. I had an amazing experience here. They make sure you’re comfortable with your smile and will listen to your concerns.
