Stay away! Horrible experience. Took my son in for consultation and was informed that he has 11 (or some other wild number) of cavities and we need to put him under and do few metal caps on the baby teeth and fix the rest of cavities while he’s under.

Since at one point in my life I worked in a dental office for few years and have knowledge of how cavities are depicted on x-rays, I informed the office that I will hold off with scheduling surgery since I was instructed to schedule it before I leave the office - I wasn’t given time to even process this information! I had the dentist I worked for review the treatment plan and X-rays and she absolutely did not agree with it. My son ended up having 3 cavities that were filled and till this day doesn’t have any metal caps on his baby teeth.

As time went on, I realized that all kids that I KNOW that are patients of this office, all have metal caps in their mouths!!! Stay away from this office or at least please take your child in for a second opinion elsewhere!

Dr Shieh has worked on my son several times now and he’s the absolute best! He makes sure he’s comfortable and from the amount of dental work unfortunately my son has had to go through he makes the process so much better. Maria the hygienist is so awesome as well. Wow! After my special needs son had challenges at two other offices, I called South Shore Smiles for advice. Their receptionist was so helpful and kind and was able to get him scheduled for the next day. They were ready for us immediately when we arrived, and I was surprised to find that the staff had already gotten his dental records and x-rays from his previous office and had their plan ready to go. When we went back to the room, Dr.

Dunlop was already in there waiting for us, which was very unexpected and refreshing. She and her assistant were both so sweet and kind to my son who has a lot of anxiety in any medical setting. Dr. Dunlop was exceptional and down to earth, I strongly recommend her!

They were awesome and friendly. I would definitely recommend them in a heartbeat. They were so good with my son who had to have dental work done in the office. He had to have a tooth pulled and they were just awesome. I can’t say enough positive things about this place.
