4/22/2016 response to April Schaefer's review I was disturbed to read April Schaefer's review posted this week on google. Unfortunately patient privacy laws do not allow me to respond in detail to Ms. Schaefer's review. I would however like to point out that the last time I saw the daughter in question was in November 2013. I can't imagine what prompted her review some 2 1/2 years after her daughter's last appointment.
I can only speculate that Ms. Schaefer may have confused our office with another office she may have subsequently visited because my treatment notes from 2013 do not reflect any of the details that she reports occurred in our office. Our office cares for thousands of patients, many are children ages 2-18. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) has been available and utilized when necessary for my entire 30yrs in private practice for both adults and children. My staff and I take pride in providing compassionate quality care for all of our patients and we take great satisfaction from the overwhelmingly positive responses we receive from our patients on a daily basis.

Absolutely not for nervous children/ pre-teens. My daughter was 9 years old and terrified of him, and I felt like he talked down to her which didn't encourage her at all. I'm not sure if he's insecure about his ability to properly administer the nitrous oxide or what the issue is with it, but I practically had to beg him to use it to help her through her visit, and that really didn't even help. I was trying to get her to go to this dentist because it was close and convenient.
After two or three visits we just decided it would be easier to take her to another dentist in Evansville. The staff at the Evansville dental office made her feel much more at ease and she no longer cried every time we took her.

Dr. Wells & his staff are by far the best dental team I’ve ever visited! I’ve searched high & low for a place I could regularly take my kids & my own personal experiences have made me very scared of the dentist.
They have completely changed my views on dentistry & Megan is nothing short of amazing!! Thank you guys for being so AWESOME! UPDATE: I just had a 20 yr old crown replaced today 3/23 & the original was done by someone else, it was too big and I’ve been uncomfortable with it for 20 years. Dr wells gave me back the smile I had pre accident and I’m so thankful!!! 10 stars ⭐️
