This past Christmas I started getting severe pain in my front top teeth (which I had experienced about a Month ago), well 2 days later, pain was intolerable and my face was getting swollen. So I called State Endodontics as my go-to (they had done a root canal a few months earlier & had done a GREAT job), I called them and their receptionists immediately got me in within the hour, Dr. Fields assistant was very accommodating & explained to me the x-rays that were taken (I was very impressed considering she was so young). When Dr.

Fields came in to go over the x-rays, he was just very informative, explained things in such a way that a patient can understand. He discovered I had an abscess in 1 of my teeth (not the tooth that another Dentist at another practice in Altoona told me I needed a root canal in) which was very infected. At the end of my visit, receptionist went over estimates for the future root canal procedure and what to expect. This is my second experience with Dr.

Fields (recommended by Dr. Schimmel's office) and I trust him & his staff to take care of my dental needs/emergencies. :-)

On the Wednesday before the 4th of July, I had been experiencing excruciating pain to the point of being unable to focus. During the holiday weekend, I called around but was unable to reach anyone who was available until I called Dr. Hertzberg. He gave me recommendations for the pain I was experiencing and let me know what to do on Monday to be seen. Following his instructions, I called first thing in the morning and spoke with Diane, who was very understanding and friendly.

They were able to get me in at 9:00 AM between appointments. The procedure was incredibly fast—I believe it was done in around 20 to 30 minutes, and the whole thing was painless. Sometimes drills can increase my anxiety, but they even offered me headphones to use. After the procedure, Diane also found that my insurance was not maxed out (which I thought it had been) and reduced my cost by more than half of what was expected. A day or two later, the office called to check on me.

Overall, I would recommend Dr. Hertzberg and his practice. If they offered general dentistry, I would switch to them as my primary dentist in a heartbeat (even though I live an hour away)

I could not recommend this office more! The whole team is wonderful. I had two emergency root canals done and they were able to get me in the same day! The office staff goes above and beyond. I highly recommend getting in with them if you are having tooth trouble!
