Untrustworthy! They omit information and/or use dental jargon to not properly explain procedures. The Orthodontist recommended my 7-year old needed Braces so my husband and I decided on the procedure. During consultation the orthodontist explained the process were “phases”. When asked about the timeframe of the “phases” she never providing specific details but just saying…we have to “wait and see” or “she may or not need them”. At the start of the process only my child top jaw received braces, when asked when will when she receive the bottom jaw the orthodontist or office assistant stated we don’t know as of yet we will see after phase 1. Orthodontist or office assistant failed to mention/omitted phase two doesn’t start until around age 10-12 or depending on when my child have her adult teeth.

Which meant the procedure of only the top jaw is pre-care to braces. My child would wear the top brace for maybe a year and a half and then 3-5 years later they would put braces on the top (again) along with bottom in phase 2. For this pre-care ”phase 1” my husband and I paid $2k out of pocket and Westown Dental billed our insurance for $1400+, totaling almost $1500 for just top braces. After waiting 3 weeks I called again and spoke with the orthodontist manager. I was informed from the notes in my child file the orthodontist stated she explained the process. I informed the manager the orthodontist never mentioned or uttered the words and anything close to the timeframe of the procedure and my needing top braces again.

I explained to her I was misinformed, if properly informed my husband and I would have had a different discussion. I was told my the orthodontist manager they (Westown Dental) would not cover the cost of the top braces but would give us a $500 credit but any other cost from “phase 2” is out pocket cost to me. That was explained after they depleted my child braces allowance through the insurance company. BEWARE! Ask specific questions regarding timeframe, procedure processes, and out-pocket to you because they will not provide you all the proper need to know information for your benefit.

If I could give them zero stars I would. They are horrible me and my daughter had Braces put one same time and anytime we have a wire poking us or need something they make you wait two weeks. They say to cut it yourself but the areas in which ours is a problem is in the back which is not reachable to a person to do it themselves. Never when we had them put on were we informed of the waiting over a week to two weeks of having wires cutting your mouth and wax does not work on the back teeth.

I also called the manager of billing for questions left several message to which she never returns my call. If I could switch I so would do not bother coming here they do not care about you at all. Absolutely the worst experience of my life !!!!

Awesome office! Very clean and organized. Dr. Dave is a very thorough doctor, she makes sure the patients are comfortable and understanding of the treatment presented. Very personable. I highly recommend and encourage anyone that is interested in starting orthodontic treatment to make an appointment at Stellar Orthodontics. :)
