I have been trying to get into this dentist since February. They were originally 6 months backed up. I have HMO so I had to chose them as a dentist. Every time I call, they don’t answer so you have to leave a message. I have left numerous messages and they refuse to call me back.
They had already taken my husband so he tried calling for me at one point. They told him that they won’t take new patients because the doctor is on emergency leave for 12 weeks, instead of just calling me back to tell me that. This was also after leaving about 4 messages prior. They won’t even call me back to make an appointment for when they can book new patients again. Tried to call again recently, they still refuse to call me back.
I now have to pay out of pocket to go to another dentist (that my insurance does not cover) until I can switch back to PPO. It’s one thing if something happens to where new patients can’t be booked yet. It’s just plain rude and unprofessional when a phone call can’t be returned (after numerous attempts) to explain what’s going on or to book ahead of time when new patients can start.

I have been calling this dentists office and leaving messages for over a week. They have never once answered the phone during business hours. The “acute emergency” phone line brings you to the exact same voicemail as the regular phone line.
I don’t know what else to try other than physically going into the office to schedule, which I’m not sure is allowed. This is the dental provider on my insurance, so I have no other options but to deal with the neglectful scheduling.

Quite possibly the worst dental office in Chicago, a 0 star option would be very helpful in this case. I received routine dental cleanings at this office for a few years, until I had a terrible experience getting crowns installed on my two front teeth by the hygienist (which frankly is out of her scope of practice) while I was on summer break from college. She yelled at me - yes raised her voice out of frustration - for not being able to hold my mouth in an unnatural position and prevent myself from salivating (not possible?) while simultaneously not offering a jack/bite block. She also made notations calling me names in my chart, and threatened not to install my crowns after my temporaries were already removed, leaving my broken teeth exposed. I'm not sure why she felt the need to have a power trip with a teenage patient in a vulnerable state, but Dr Morris allowing this kind of behavior from his staff speaks to his inability to provide care and his neglect of patient safety. Upon reporting this wildly inappropriate behavior to Dr Morris, he defended her actions and claimed the hygienist was the "best around. " This is now referred to as "medical gaslighting. " Unfortunately, there is ample evidence that suggests that she is not the "best around.
" The thing about neighborhood dental offices is that the patients tend to know each other. . . and talk. She chipped away at a family friend's enamel during a routine cleaning, costing him thousands in repairs. Another member of my family's crowns have failed, requiring premature replacement. For those who have undergone similar experiences, the hygienist is a blonde woman with a UK accent. I wish I shared this review sooner - I've heard she's still there! The crowns I received made periodontic care medically necessary due to poor placement and have since failed, requiring replacement after less than 10 years.
This is at the advisement of 4 other dentists in Chicago. Why did I seek 4 "second" opinions before getting work done? Because after dealing with what felt like starring in a movie from the "Saw" franchise under the care of Dr Morris and his hygienist, I have a heightened requirement for due diligence when seeking dental or medical care. Looking back, I should have sought legal representation and filed a complaint with the American Dental Association and the IDFPR. I was younger at the time and had not yet learned to advocate for myself - this was certainly taken advantage of. While they forgot what it means to observe their scope of practice and duty of care, they certainly did not forget to send the bill! Needless to say, I have since sought dental care elsewhere. While this was my personal experience, I would avoid this place if you want to keep your teeth.

I have been seeing Dr. Morris and his staff for 28 years. They work with you from the start. Accommodating with your schedule, billing, and any questions on any dental procedures. Professional and kind! I drive 47 miles one way because I think they are all great!
