Detailed Introduction

STL Urgent Dental (South County) is the original location of STL Urgent Dental, a dental clinic specifically designed to address urgent and emergency dental needs in St. Louis, Missouri. Founded by Dr. Augustine Borgmeyer in 2018, this clinic, located at 4171 Crescent Dr # 102, St. Louis, MO 63129, was established to fill a critical gap in the St. Louis metropolitan area for immediate, "problem-focused" dental care. The clinic operates with expanded hours, including evenings and weekends (Monday-Thursday: 7:30 am-9:00 pm; Friday: 8:00 am-9:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 am-5:00 pm), ensuring that patients can access care when traditional dental offices are closed. They emphasize a fast emergency response time and often accommodate same-day appointments, with convenient online scheduling available 24/7 through Local Med. STL Urgent Dental (South County) is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and staffed by a team of professional and compassionate dentists who prioritize patient comfort and well-being. Their services primarily focus on addressing immediate dental emergencies, including: Diagnosis: Thorough examinations, including X-rays, to accurately identify the root cause of the dental emergency. Emergency Tooth Extractions: Swift and effective removal of severely damaged or infected teeth. Composite Fillings: Restorations for cavities. Root Canal Therapy: Treatment to save a severely damaged or infected tooth. Crowns: Solutions for significantly damaged teeth. Addressing Toothaches: Alleviating pain and discomfort from various causes. Dental Trauma: Care for chipped, fractured, displaced, or knocked-out teeth. Problematic Wisdom Teeth: Management of issues related to wisdom tooth eruption. Broken or Lost Dental Appliances: Repairs or replacements for fillings, dentures, crowns, etc. The clinic is known for its individualized personal treatment approach and has garnered a high patient satisfaction rating (4.9 out of 5 based on over 1600 reviews across all locations). They accept various insurance plans and offer flexible payment options, including CareCredit, to make emergency dental care accessible. While they excel in urgent care, they do not offer routine dental prophylaxis treatments (cleanings) or regular check-ups, focusing solely on emergency and restorative procedures.

I was shocked by my treatment at STL Urgent Dental (South County) today. Everything seemed great — able to get me in same day, took my insurance. I got there and they took X-rays and brought me back to a room. They told me I have a pretty bad infection that requires them to pull the tooth and additionally they wanted to take a bone graft because the tooth was so decayed.

The bone graft isn’t covered by insurance, so the sticker shock was real because payment is due at time of service. I wanted to consult my fiancé on the expense because we’d need to do some transferring of funds, but instead of giving me time to do so they told me to come back the next day. When I told them I wanted to do the treatment today and I’d pay the full amount, I was continued to be ushered out the door by the tech. I explained this to the admin assistant at the front that I had the funds and would like the treatment today, and she told me I would need to come back tomorrow because they didn’t have time for additional appointments.

Didn’t have time? I was just in a room being treated 5 seconds ago and when I didn’t pull out a wad of cash to pay I was scooted out the door. Absolutely insane not advocating for your patients care who are in pain and need help.

This place is beyond disrespectful. The staff has no care or concern for patients at all they’re cold, dismissive, and act like you’re a bother for even showing up. They told me to pay everything upfront and said my insurance would reimburse me, even though they’re out of network. That was a lie my insurance said no reimbursement is possible. They wouldn’t even file the claim, just told me to do it myself.

On top of that, my teeth are worse now than before I went in. They rushed through everything and clearly didn’t care about the outcome. It’s all about money for them, not helping people. I regret ever going there.

I went to STL Urgent dental for tooth pain. Dr. Emara had them do a panoramic X-ray ( something my regular dentist did not do the day before) and was able to diagnose an infection. He was prudent enough to tell me it was a complex extraction and I needed an oral surgeon.

As much as I wanted the tooth removed then I appreciate his honesty and concern for my overall well being. My dental assistant Maria was exceptional and went above and beyond to help me. I hope I never need their services again but would not hesitate to go back if I did.

This dental office is an absolute scam. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and clearly only care about money not patient care. They rush you in and out with zero respect, and they make you sign paperwork that basically says they’re not responsible for anything that goes wrong. What kind of medical provider refuses to take accountability? It’s shady and dangerous.

They overcharge, won’t explain the costs, and get nasty when you ask questions. The whole experience felt like a trap cold, disrespectful, and dishonest. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually values patients and stands behind their work.
