Truly wish I had better things to say. This was my first appointment here (thinking my prior dentist didn't take my new dental insurance), so I'll walk you through what happened. I scheduled an appointment for an annual cleaning online. I filled out all the forms required ahead of time. I get there and had to wait a good 15 minutes before I was brought back. It took 45 min at minimum for the hygienist to look at my mouth (they do the gum periodontal numbering) and complete xrays and photos. I was then told the dentist would have to come over and look at everything so they could "decide" what type of cleaning I needed. The dentist came over and was very much all about being quick and efficient/seemed busy, and didn't have the warmest demeanor. She looked at my mouth, the xrays, and photos. She then told me I needed a deep cleaning (aka "scaling and root planing") and had multiple cavities.

I've always taken very good care of my teeth, so I was shocked to hear that. The deep cleaning is intense where it's 2 appointments. 1. 5 hours each. Need numbing. You bleed a lot, they dig deep in your gums, etc. (also insanely expensive). They told me I'd need to make multiple appointments to have this done. My gut told me to get another opinion. I told them I'd call to make further appointments if I was coming back.

So I left at the end of the appointment with zero cleaning at all (pretty disappointing). Fast forward -- I called the dentist I grew up going to, thinking maybe they do bill my insurance and it's just not listed on the website. Thankfully that was the case, so I made an appointment for a cleaning. Turns out, I did NOT need a deep cleaning, just a regular cleaning, and I also have NO cavities. This was confirmed by both the hygienist and dentist. They were shocked either were even suggested to me as I barely had any tartar/plaque build up. I encourage you to be VERY careful here if you're new at this place. It seemed that they just wanted money from me, and this "deep cleaning" could have actually damaged my teeth since I don't have periodontal disease, bone loss, major tartar build up, etc.

Very pleased. I was with my previous dentist for almost 30 years. The staff at Streamwood Smiles was friendly and up-beat. They were professional and did not try to sell me extra services or treatments. I felt like a customer rather than a person that was being squeezed by a business looking to maximize revenue per visit.

If I could this place 0 stars I would. I went in for a routine cleaning August 2024 (mind you, I’ve never been to this place, I picked it based on its good ratings). The dentist told me I had 4 cavities (I was experiencing no pain or discomfort before she filled my cavities). She filled all 4 of them that day and that is where the problem all started. She did not numb me good enough so I felt so much pain while she was doing the fillings. Even though I expressed to her that I was still feeling pain she did not do anything about it and kept drilling.

After she filled my cavities, I went home and weeks after I was having pain in one of my teeth. I went back 3 MORE TIMES after my initial appointment to have her try and figure out the problem. She ended up grinding down my teeth to adjust my bite more and redid the cavity in one of my teeth. I STILL was having pain weeks after her doing this, you can imagine how frustrating was. So, I ended up going to their sister store (Prairie walk dental) for a second opinion. They took a CT of my mouth, another dentist saw me and still could not figure out the problem and told me that my next step would be a root canal.

It is not until a week ago (May 2025) that I went to a completely different practice and got a third opinion. The dentist immediately was able to figure out the problem and it turns out the dentist redid the wrong cavity on a completely different tooth that was not experiencing pain. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this practice and will never be going back.

Fantastic dental practice with an amazing dentist and friendly helpful and courteous staff. Very well organized, low wait times and very accommodating!! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a dentist in the Streamwood, Bartlett, Hoffman Estates community.
