I've recently begun my personalized dental journey at TAG Oral Care Center. The staff has been kind, respectful, and accommodating when interacting with them. Dentists like Dr. Nassif Youssef are providing patients like me the opportunity to smile with confidence again.

The staff and the work they do here at Tag Oral Care Center are phenomenal. I never thought I’d get a second chance at a beautiful smile again until I was referred to this program that sponsors implant surgery for underprivileged citizens of Chicago. I started my journey with Tag Oral Care Center back in October 2022, where I had the pleasure of meeting with and working with the amazing staff. Several panels of X-rays, deep cleanings, and fillings were done, knowing this was a free program. I patiently waited for my date, but after not hearing back for another 12 months, I literally didn’t go back to Tag until October 2023. Still, no implants. I finally reached out again in February 2024, where I was then finally scheduled to start the process for the implant surgery because my file was lost in the system somehow. In March, I went in, and they successfully placed the screws for the implants. I have three screws total - two top left, one bottom left - where they extracted the whole tooth from the root. After finalizing, I went to the front desk for further instruction and future appointments, where I was then told by the dentist that I need to have my wisdom teeth extracted and was referred to the University College of Dentistry. I asked the dentist from Tag if I didn’t get the wisdom teeth extractions, would that jeopardize my implant surgery and proceedings? I was told no.
After I scheduled my follow-up appointment, which consisted of them checking for how well my gums healed, after which they healed perfectly and pretty fast, even the dentist thought so as well. It takes three months for the gums to heal completely, so in June, I followed up with all my fillings appointments. My last fillings appointment was October 17, 2024, which was by accident. I had already finished all my fillings, where I was then told that I absolutely had to have the wisdom teeth removed to proceed. When I first received my dental plan, I was aware that I needed extractions, but I didn’t know I would have to go through another dentist or network to have the extractions done. My original dental plan, made on October 26, 2022, stated that my extractions are covered in the dental plan. My total was for around 17k that was supposed to be completely free. Now fast forward to 2025, and I’m responsible for $1k worth of extractions plus an additional X-ray I had to get from the College of Dentistry because I don’t have dental insurance. If I didn’t have the money to start the implants surgery on my own with a private practice, how can I afford $1k to another dentist that told me they do not recommend I have my wisdom teeth extracted? Tag won’t move forward with me, and I’m extremely frustrated to have been going through this process for almost three years and nothing more than three screws in my mouth. When I was amongst the first group Tag worked with, I’ve heard from other people that have come here, they have their implants, and I still have nothing. The College of Dentistry wait is over seven months.
I still went ahead and scheduled the appointment for just in case, but this is not right. I was told one thing, and has been shown another since this whole process has started. I just want my implants. I’m walking around with three missing teeth in the same place. I know this is government-based or whatever, but it shouldn’t be this long and hard. I feel like I’m on a heart transplant waitlist. This is ridiculous. First, everything was free, now I have to find $1k by July. I don’t understand.

The level of care I received is above average for the Chicago area. Everyone at this location is friendly, upbeat and respectful. The Doctor and his staff show compassion and kindness at all times. They take the time to explain things and truly give the impression they actually care about their patients. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent service and a great atmosphere.

I loved my whole procedure. I'm eating on both sides and I have a beautiful smile again. I love Dr Youssef. He worked with me from the beginning to the end. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
