I have dental anxiety. I was there for a root canal. I told the nurse when she came in and I asked for nitrous. I had confirmed in advance this was an option and said I was willing to pay. She said oh it’s not so bad, you’ll be fine. I explained I have a high pain tolerance but a low threshold for dental drilling sounds reverberating in my head. She said nothing else but also didn’t bring the nitrous.
The doctor came in and I explain I have dental anxiety and would like to pay for nitrous. Same reaction - it’s no big deal, she says some of her patients fall asleep during the procedure. So now I’m feeling embarrassed and just say ok if you think it will be fine. It was not fine, as I predicted. I had a panic attack mid procedure. They STILL DID NOT BRING THE GAS!!!! I calmed down and they continued. When I felt a second panic attack starting I said stop, you have to bring the gas or we can’t go on.
The nurse was complaining about how heavy it was and made a fuss about moving things around to make way to roll it. I get that - protect your back - but it really felt like everyone let me have two panic attacks because it was too hard to clear a path for the tank. Then they hit me with a random bill for $40 by email later which they said they now can’t find and their sister office charged my card $190 after I left the studio (and had paid $2500 on arrival - the balance was zero). Customer service routes to people in another country and you can’t speak to the actual offices. The doctor actually seemed competent and like she cared outside of the above described but unless you have no dental anxiety and don’t care about random extra $200 on a already approx $4000 total bill this may not be the place.

I am not sure why I am just about Tend. This place is awesome. I came to get a root canal done and when I tell you I felt no pain.. I FELT NO PAIN. Dr Wang took her time to explain every step to me and made me feel extremely comfortable. I think I found my new dentist.

I got my root canal done here and it was the best dental experience I’ve had in my life. Everyone was so kind and the office is beautiful! The dentist was so accommodating. I was super nervous to get my root canal and she made it so quick and easy. Thank you so much!

This location is better than any of the other Tend locations due SOLELY to the dental techs and dentists (front desk staff is horrible - rude, unhelpful and completely untrained in ADA law). My Invisalign process has taken over 2 years when they told me it would be a 6 month process. They kept changing my orthodontist and have extremely limited appt availability. The customer service/front desk woman I just spoke with about rescheduling because there was a mix up causing me to miss my appt was super rude and raised her voice to me when I was just trying to work together to find a solution to my scheduling problem. She took an angry rude tone saying "youre trying to find a solution but how can I find you a solution when there are no appointments available. " I then asked if she could add me to a cancellation list -- what do you know, she could, but did she offer that before she yelled at me, or try at all to help me? No. Then magically a sooner appointment appeared, but it's still not for another month, and I won't be surprised if they try to charge me $100 for missing an appointment I never confirmed.
Anyway now I'll have been waiting 2 mos to get the aligners I need to finish this godawful process. I wish I went literally anywhere else for this but I've already paid an insane amount of money, so I have to finish the process through them. EDIT 5/8/25 -- Back to add to my review because yesterday I was in and the front desk refused to allow me to be seen with my service dog (12 lb hypoallergenic breed, registered, with paperwork available). Despite my having the paperwork readily available and offering to show them, they refused to even look at it, which is a blatant violation of ADA law. The manager was laying on the couch in the lobby eating McDonalds out of a bag on the floor (which I'm sure is some type of healthcode violation). When I asked her to confirm for the record that she was refusing to allow me into my appointment with my service animal she said "I'm actually in a meeting," got up, walked away and hid in the break room, leaving her McDonalds trash on the floor in the lobby. They promised to provide me with written documentation that they would not allow me to be seen with my service animal and that they would not view the paperwork which they assured me they would and never did.
I’ve reported the incident to the NYC commission of human rights and will be pursuing legal recourse. Another update! They canceled the follow up appt for tomorrow that I booked weeks ago with no notice or update. Had to call to confirm. This is the 3rd time they’ve done this.
