Detailed Introduction

The provided information indicates "Dana R. Martin, Orthodontist DMD, MS - Alcoa" with a website of "https://www.tennesseebraces.com". While the source content points to an individual's name, further online search reveals a more nuanced situation. Dana R. Martin, DMD, MS was an orthodontist who operated multiple practice locations, including one in Alcoa, TN. However, recent information indicates that Dana R. Martin Orthodontics, including the Alcoa location, concluded operations as of May 23, 2025, due to Dr. Martin's retirement and passing. The website "https://www.google.com/search?q=tennesseebraces.com" now redirects to "tennesseeorthostudios.com," which appears to be a separate, larger orthodontic clinic known as "Tennessee Orthodontic Studios." This suggests a transition or acquisition, where the previous individual practice may have been absorbed or replaced by a larger clinic network. Tennessee Orthodontic Studios is presented as a clinic with multiple locations, including Knoxville, Maryville, and Morristown, implying a broader reach than a single individual practice. They offer a comprehensive range of orthodontic services for both children and adults, including traditional metal braces, esthetic (clear/ceramic) braces, and clear aligners (such as Invisalign). The clinic emphasizes a patient-centered approach, focusing on comfort, personalized treatment plans, and delivering exceptional results. They highlight their experienced team, commitment to modern technology, and a track record of numerous satisfied patients with positive reviews.

Was told braces would be off after 2-2. 5 years. Thousands of dollars and almost 4 years later and my teeth look exactly the same. They take on WAY too many clients to the point they can’t see you as often as they should and only at the most inconvenient times. They’re now saying I have $300+ in no-show fees and won’t treat me until I pay. I have already paid my braces in full and shouldn’t be charged for appointments they made for me at the worst times.

Half of them I didn’t know about and the other half I cancelled hours in advance but that wasn’t enough I suppose. My treatment has also been halted as the doctor keeps requesting I have teeth pulled even though when I signed original contract and made treatment plan NOTHING was said about needing so many expensive extractions. I just want my teeth fixed as best as they can. I just want my money’s worth. My advice: find an orthodontist with less patients and more time for you.

We have been bringing our daughter here for two years for a 18 month treatment plan. We have shown up to appointments where they had no idea what was going on and literally sent her home with no way to wear her liners bc they removed her attachments. They also have had us show up twice when there were no liners and they had to make us leave and reschedule. We live an hour away, so it’s kind of a big deal. And when they’re wrong they try to tell you it’s your fault as if you should be managing your child’s treatment plan. Well, the final blow came last week when they once again had us show up with no liners.

After I complained and defended myself (because they claimed my child was at fault for not communicating with me yet I was sitting right next to her and the dentist the ENTIRE last appointment so she didn’t have to tell me what he said!), they offered me gift cards. I told them it wasn’t about the money. They gave it anyway, and we had to return later the same day and I had to reschedule my meeting for work. After getting the gift cards and feeling a little better and at least heard, I stopped to get gas. I went to use one of the cards and it had never been activated. Hesitantly I just brought the card back to them this morning bc my daughter’s attachment fell off and we had to come back for the 3rd time in 2 weeks.

The office manager printed off where it supposedly had been spent and he showed me a paper. So now they are calling me a liar??? Shouldn’t they be able to see in their records what they’ve done? Anyway, just another example of bad business and inability to manage and keep records. Don’t go here. Go anywhere else.

This practice cares more about profit than their patients. My children have been going to this practice for years and we are at a point we cannot change orthodontists. The staff will speak poorly about patients in front of other patients. They have drawn out my daughter's care and missed the gap in her teeth until they were about to remove her braces.

They have too many patients for the single orthodontist and do not adjust patient flow accordingly. Nonetheless, if you are 10 min late you must reschedule--- despite the fact you will, on average wait in the waiting room at least 30 min past your time for a simple retainer check. I do not recommend this practice at all.

Whatever you do. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. I have been going here for 6 months. When I started I had delta dental then switched jobs and was told it would be in effect until 3. 31. 24. Well it cancelled on 3 1 24 and I have went 6 months and paid my monthly payment only to get a letter stating I now owe them 5500. Mind you I signed the contract for 2000 1500 from ins and then discount with insurance. No one told me that my insurance was not paying when I went to every appointment and paid my money on time. Then I was informed by the office manager that I owe the 5500 and that is what I am responsible for, so now I have to find another orthodontist.

When I came from florida my teeth were straight with my braces, now I have crooked teeth up top and a gap on the bottom which I am sure will cost more money to fix and time. These people will try and scam you out of money. Be careful. They even changed a few of my brackets and shouldn't have because they have made my teeth crooked. Now I have to spend more money finding another orthodonist and getting an attorney to sue these people. Be careful about who you chose. There is no way I owe these people 5500 for 6 months when i put money down plus paid monthly. They are trying to rip me off, but the office manager cancelled my appt for next week because she got mad at what I told her about how they were negligent and not telling me nothing was paid. Her excuse was well notmally insurance has a year to pay, not always true but you seen my insurance was not paying and neglected to tell me anything at all so I could have stopped treatement and went elsewhere. They billing company orthofi they use are useless.

They have called me for 6 months straight saying I never paid anything but it was all paid in office. The communication in this office is awful and they are super negligent. PLEASE DON'T LET THE CHEAP DOWN PAYMENT FOOL YOU. I never received a letter from my old dental insurance staring I owed anything or they didn't pay, but the office manager said she received all the letters for that, YET I WAS NEVER INFORMED. Also they ended up ripping off my crown trying to fit metal circles and I had to pay 100. 00 to get it cemented back on. I asked for a refund they said no it was not there fault when clearly it was.
