Dr. Shapiro changed my life. It's hard to put in words the depth of the impact someone can have that has truly changed your life. For several years, I carried the weight of embarrassment and insecurity when I smiled. At about 20 years old, I had two root canals done on my front teeth by a previous dentist without fully understanding what was being done or what the long-term impact would be. The crowns that were placed afterward were discolored, a greenish/grey, despite going back several times for a better match. These crowns stayed with me for years as a constant reminder of that experience, until I met Dr. Shapiro. The first time I walked into his office, I was nearly in tears as I couldn't believe my smile looked the way it did, or that my dental hygiene got to the point it did. Due to dental anxiety, I avoided regular visits and my teeth suffered. Cavities were present in more teeth than not, and I believed my smile was beyond saving.

Nevertheless, I walked out of my first visit with a two-page long treatment plan and hope. Dr. Shapiro reassured me from the very beginning and lifted the weight of anxiety, insecurity, and shame that I had been carrying for years prior. He took the time to carefully restore and preserve as much of my natural teeth as possible, while still delivering the kind of cosmetic results I never thought were possible for me. During my research before meeting Dr. Shapiro, I considered veneers (which I would have ended up deeply regretting), as I did not believe there were any other options to fix my smile. He didn’t just want to make my smile look good, he wanted it to be healthy, sustainable, and strong. The new crowns he placed on my front teeth are perfect- they are natural, perfectly matched, and nothing like the ones I had before. For the first time in years, I can smile without hesitation, laugh freely, and feel proud of how far I’ve come. In addition to Dr. Shapiro, the rest of the team at The Center for Cosmetic dentistry is incredible.

From those at the reception desk, to the hygienist and dental assistants. Dr. Palmieri kindly stepped in to take care of a dental emergency for me while Dr. Shapiro was away on vacation, as my temporary crown was nearly falling off my front tooth. This kind of support and care in dentistry is a rarity. If you’ve ever felt ashamed of your smile, if you’ve avoided the dentist out of fear or trauma, or if you just want someone who truly cares about the person behind the teeth, ask for Dr. Shapiro. He didn’t just fix my teeth. He helped me reclaim my confidence and my life.

I recently switched over to The Center for Cosmetic dentistry in Smithtown after feeling dissatisfied with my previous dentist. I did extensive research and finally decided on this practice. All I can say is that I am sooooooooo happy I did. I see Dr. Palmieri and he is beyond amazing. I almost hate leaving a review because I feel like he is my best kept secret! But seriously, he is top notch! His demeanor, his expertise, his kindness, and the time he takes to listen and then go over all options is exceptional! I have never had such a good experience at the dentist.

Honestly one of the very best. I actually don’t dread going to the dentist now which I never thought would happen. I have my husband and grown children switched over to this practice now and everyone couldn’t be happier. Thank you so much Dr. Palmieri!! Also should mention that the staff is wonderful as well and the cleaning I had done was the most thorough I’ve ever had done ! Great practice all around!

I walked into Center for Cosmetic dentistry hating my smile. I had a consultation with Dr. Shapiro and was very impressed with his knowledge and determination to help me love my smile. Although he said I was a challenge he was determined to help me. That was 7 months ago. He decided that I would be a good candidate for Invisalign. I went through the process and followed all of his instructions. I walked out of his office last week with a new smile.

I cannot thank him enough for not giving up on me. He is a talented cosmetic dentist as well as a kind and caring man. I would recommend this business to all of my friends and family. Thank you to Dr. Shapiro and his staff for taking such good care of their patients. I have included before and after photos.
