Update: I did speak to Dr. Ricco. He was very apologetic & he seemed very genuine. He said if he was involved throughout the whole process while I was trying to fix all the issues, he would’ve had my back, but because I didn’t involve him there isn’t anything he could do and my response to him was I didn’t involve him because I had already given him a chance to fix the problem and I lacked trust in him. Also he said root canals have a probably of failing and I responded to him if he was aware of this then why risk it when it wasn’t even needed? I went to him several years ago to replace the veneers I had on my two front teeth. My existing veneers were 15 yrs old, they were cemented very well, never once did I have an issue with them falling off, but they were a little bulky for my taste and a little yellower compare to my own teeth so I asked Dr. Ricco to replace them. The worse decision of my life. When he gave me the new veneers, he shaved down my teeth a lot, gave me tiny baby teeth because he wanted the veneers to sit flat, however one of the veneers kept falling off randomly, it was happening on weekly basis and because I was left with such small tooth underneath, I had to call in sick for work every time, weeks went by with the same reoccurring issue so finally I said to him something else has to happen so he agreed to give me crowns instead at no cost to me, but here is the unethical part, he said he would need to do root canal on my perfectly healthy teeth because otherwise it would be very sensitive for me to have crowns on teeth that still have their roots, which is all untrue & the only reason he wanted to do the root canal was because he could bill my insurance so he would make up for the “free” crowns he gave me.

I trusted him & believed what he said to be true & allowed him to butcher me further. He did the root canals & gave me the worse looking crowns that because they didn’t properly fit (open margins), my gums never healed. For several years I walked around with red and inflamed gums. finally decided to get them fixed when I knew insurance would allow crown replacement. Needed to wait 7 yrs but this time I went to an expert, a Prostodontic and that’s when I realized what a terrible job he had done when she said first I needed to get my bite fixed by an orthodontist which is why the veneer that he had given me originally was popping out and then I had to see a Predontist to get crown lengthening (gum surgery) to expose more teeth for the cement to adhere better & after over 1 year of treatments/surgery once I was healed I got my new beautiful crowns. But now almost 2 yrs later, I ended up having a sinus tract on my gum above one of the tooth that he had given me a root canal. Sinus tract is sign of infection so I needed to see an endodontist to do a 3d scan to confirm & I do in fact have an infection that requires a root canal retreatment because the root canal he did wasn’t done properly. They would need to drill into my beautiful new crown and hopefully it won’t crack in order for them to do the treatment. Several years later, I’m still paying the price for allowing dr Ricco to work on me.

Ive spend too many years of not smiling for pics, so much heartache, so many nights of having nightmares of my crowns falling off, so much time spent fixing all the issues. I’ve spend over 12k so far and still counting. Sadly all because he either didn't realize that my bite is off or because it wasn’t an ideal situation for his practice to send me to get proper treatment. No root canal should be performed on healthy teeth, specially if precautions aren't taken to not introduce bacteria while giving me the root canal hence why I need a root canal retreatment. I’m hoping this review will reach people and won’t allow him do things to you that only a specialist should do. Because of him I’ve seen and been treated by every specialist in dentistry.
