Detailed Introduction

The Salvation Army Good Samaritan Health Clinic, located at 120 N Broadway Ave, Rochester, MN 55906, is a vital healthcare resource dedicated to serving the underserved population of Olmsted County and the surrounding communities. This clinic operates under the broader mission of The Salvation Army, providing essential medical, emergency dental, and pharmaceutical services. The clinic's primary focus is on individuals who lack private health insurance or medical assistance, as well as the working poor. It aims to bridge the gap in healthcare access for those who might otherwise turn to emergency rooms for basic needs. Services offered are extensive and include acute care for immediate health concerns, ongoing management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, and specialized clinics for cardiology, rheumatology, psychiatry, and pediatrics. There is also a monthly eye clinic and a breast clinic in partnership with the SAGE Program. The dental clinic component specifically addresses emergent dental needs, offering services like tooth extractions and treatment for tooth pain, including antibiotics and dental x-rays. It's important to note that while it provides crucial emergency dental care, it does not offer cosmetic procedures or extensive restorative work like fillings or crowns. A significant aspect of the Good Samaritan Health Clinic's operation is its reliance on a dedicated team of volunteers, many of whom are licensed medical professionals from Mayo Clinic. This partnership with Mayo Clinic is crucial, providing both financial support and professional expertise, allowing the clinic to offer high-quality care with a limited paid staff. Mayo Clinic residents also gain valuable experience working in a limited-resource setting, fostering a commitment to altruism. The clinic strives to provide free or reduced-cost healthcare, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent individuals from receiving necessary medical attention. Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled by calling (507) 529-4100. The clinic also operates a pharmacy for prescriptions issued by its physicians. Beyond direct medical care, the clinic embodies The Salvation Army's broader mission of meeting human needs without discrimination, motivated by a strong sense of community and compassion. It represents a critical safety net for vulnerable populations in the Rochester area, offering hope and practical support through accessible healthcare.

My name is Chris. My girlfriend brought me here and they helped me so much, even with my anxiety attacks throughout the process they stopped and talked with me and helped me breathe and relax. Multiple times and they were so nice and calm. I’m 30 and they really helped me with their kindness, thank you all so much

I'm very grateful for this place. They have taken care of me on two different occasions. They took 3 of my teeth out. Their staff are really nice and caring. Super clean place.

They explain everything to you in great detail. I was experiencing so much pain with 3 of my teeth and other dentists wanted to charge me basically a house down payment to take care of them. Their prices here are very affordable.
