Thornhill Family Dentistry is the kind of neighborhood practice you hope to find. My family of four has been coming here for 8 years, and it’s like visiting friends who happen to be amazing dentists. The office feels cozy with local art on the walls and a waiting area that’s never chaotic—even with kids running around. Dr. Thornhill is fantastic with all ages: he makes my 6-year-old laugh during cleanings with silly jokes and takes the time to explain my husband’s crown options thoroughly.

Their hygienists are gentle but thorough, and they offer early morning appointments that fit my work schedule. When my son chipped a tooth at a birthday party, they got us in within the hour. A practice that blends skill with heart—we wouldn’t trust our smiles to anyone else.

I have been a patient at this clinic for a couple years now. They got me over my fear of needles. They were super patient with me as I wasn't the easiest patient to give needles too. I have had nothing but great experiences with all the staff from Dr. Ciomyk to Tamee at the front desk and everyone in between.

They explain all the steps they are going to do and work around my schedule. They help me with the insurance co payment and even call me towards the end of the year to remind me I still have coverage and do I want to use it up on fillings that were not done yet. Highly recommend them.

The care at Thornhill Family Dentistry is top-notch. The hygienists and office staff are kind, caring, compassionate, and accommodating. I have been a patient here for many years and never had a negative experience; as a child (and even into my teenage years!) I was always offered a prize from the toy box (which made the experience much more enjoyable for me as a child who hated going to any dental or medical office) and as an adult have always received a bag full of the essentials (toothbrush, toothpaste, flossers, etc.

). I have always been able to book appointments at my convenience, and been treated quickly and efficiently when I arrive for my appointment. Billing is straightforward and easy from my personal experience, whether through insurance or out-of-pocket; I have found that insurance companies have different requirements for direct billing or client reimbursement based upon their specific systems that have been put in place, which the administration is happy to accommodate (however, it is the responsibility of the patient to have insurance billing information set up and organized prior to being treated).

Overall, this office is a wonderful, welcoming place for all members of the family, and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone in the Thornhill or nearby areas.

All the hygienists are amazing! Unfortunately, the one star is due to the office staff as they have very poor client relationship skills. They are unable to efficiently communicate with insurance companies or manage to submit claims via mail. They place all the pressure on the person to submit payment and deal with the insurance directly. This is despite insurance advising otherwise as they pay direct to the provider. Should you dare question this you get harassed by email and phone call.

No answer is the correct answer unless you are providing a credit card to pay. How it is a “Family Dentistry” office I am unsure as money is clearly the priority. It is very sad that relationships have to end due to inefficient management who do not know how to communicate with insurance or clients. The administrative has even gone so far as to breach privacy by contacting family members about insurance and revealing account information without so much as an apology. There is an inability to apologize for mistakes or provide evidence for any statements they claim as facts.

If you don’t have insurance I’m sure you’ll love the office but if you have to go through insurance be cautious and aware of the amount out of pocket you will be spending. Again, the staff is amazing but administration needs some work and training.
