Detailed Introduction

The TMJ And Sleep Therapy Office of London is a specialized healthcare clinic located at 2083 Wharncliffe Rd S, London, ON N6P 1K9, Canada. The clinic's primary focus is on the comprehensive, non-surgical diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, chronic head and neck pain, and various sleep disorders including snoring and sleep apnea. The clinic is led by Dr. David E. Rawson, DDS, who graduated from The University of Western Ontario in 1974. Dr. Rawson has dedicated over two decades to studying and treating these complex conditions, extensively traveling across North America to learn from leaders in the field. In 2003, he established the TMJ And Sleep Therapy Office of London, focusing exclusively on these specialized areas. The clinic emphasizes a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to patient care. This often involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals such as osteopaths, craniosacral therapists, massage therapists, and nutritional and lifestyle counselors to provide comprehensive support. Their treatment philosophy aims to address the root causes of the conditions without relying on needles, surgery, or drugs. Services provided at the TMJ And Sleep Therapy Office of London include advanced diagnostic techniques to evaluate hard and soft tissues, such as X-rays, CT scans, Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA), Electromyography (EMG), and Jaw Tracking (JT). These technologies help in precisely identifying the nature and severity of the patient's condition. Treatment options are tailored to individual needs and may involve the use of custom oral appliances like splints or mouthguards, BioTENS therapy (a low-frequency electrical neural stimulator to relax muscles and reduce pain), and personalized bite registration to optimize jaw alignment. The clinic also addresses related conditions such as Temporal Tendinitis, Ernest Syndrome, Occipital Neuralgia, and various forms of Trigeminal Neuralgia. The clinic prides itself on its dedicated and well-trained staff, who work to provide a safe and caring environment for patients of all ages suffering from these often debilitating conditions. They continuously upgrade their education and clinical skills to offer the latest in modern healthcare. Dr. Rawson is also actively involved in professional organizations and lectures to medical and dental audiences, sharing his expertise in TMJ and sleep apnea.

These people are salespeople, taking advantage of a system that lacks oversight. (Please read for your own good) They want to sell you an expensive split, and THAT is their agenda. When I arrived, I was asked what my greatest fear in all this was. I stated that spending a bunch of money on treatment only to have a splint stuck in my mouth. Next appointment, I was told that I needed a splint and that it was the ONLY solution to my pain.

That was a red flag for me. As an athlete, I understand that rarely is pain in one area a phenomenon in and of itself. So, I did some research. TMJ is heavily impacted by poor posture (forward head posture, slouched shoulders, tongue not in rest at the top of your mouth - sound familiar?) Anyways, long story short, with some diligent attention and research into my imbalances, some physio, being super mindful of my posture, etc, etc…. Wow, no more pain.

Look, splints are sometimes necessary in some cases, but don’t let these people sell you their silver bullet. DO YOUR RESEARCH first.

Since day one of my daughter becoming a patient at TMJ and sleep therapy clinic, I have nothing but excellent things to say. Every single visit we were made to feel welcomed by the entire staff. Every visit, I am immediately asked about my family and Dr. Rawson is always able to recall small personal details mentioned in previous conversations.

The entire process was comfortable and we were informed during every step of the process. All of my daughter's issues with jaw locking and clicking were resolved as did her daily headaches. I am so appreciative of Dr Rawson, Barb, and the entire team at this offic ,especially Karly , she is so passionate about her job, we love having her every time we visit the office. I wish I could offer more than 5 stars!

I was on a liquid diet for over a month due to the agony of TMJ. I was on a waiting list for anothere clinic and was told that I could have an appointmen within a month to 6 weeks.

I self referred to this clinic and had an appointmen two days later! They are competent and profeesional and my treatment was a spectacular success. I have been of solid foods and pain free for 7 months now! I whole heartedly and unequivocally recommend for TMJ treatments

This office is a mess. Poor treatment plan, important mistakes were made and I was blamed for them. My pain and concerns were disregarded repeatedly. The current secretary is extremely rude. She has also disregarded my pain and diagnosed my issue as "not their problem" when, in fact, it was. I have been waiting 5 months for a referral that should have been done within a month (this comment coming from the Dr himself).

I was told in the beginning of October that I would get a phone call from the Dr the following week and I have yet to receive it (today being November 14). I have left 7 voicemails and sent an email that were all ignored. My treatement is incomplete but paid for. Complaint for the College pending refund.
