The billing department on the other hand has been a horrible experience. Literally yelling at me on the phone, or they don’t answer the phone, or call me back. Terrible customer service and billing. The oral splint should be put through to insurance not cash pay. Turns out many healthcare plans actually cover the cost, but the billing department refused to send in the claim.

I have been using this TMJ place since 2006 at different locations because the one on Howell Ave wasn’t one of the locations until a few years ago. I see Dr Desai and he is not only awesome but cares about you as a person. I recently had a problem with a tooth and he was in contact with my regular dentist to make sure my problem could be fixed.

As soon as he saw it, he said I needed to see my dentist and together Dr Desai & my dentist were in contact to make sure they were on the same page.

Don't go here or to any of these offices for any TMJ issues. Their prices are insane even with insurance and they will give you a splint that will do more harm than good. They charge more than double what an out of network clinic charges.

Dr Machman also talks a million miles an hour and doesn't stop talking about how much experience he has and how great he is. This company was fined by the DOJ and is a scam. AVOID

I do not recommend TMJ Treatment Centers of Wisconsin to anyone. I was referred to them by my specialist to get fitted for an oral device to minimize my snoring. My fitting appointment went fantastic and I was told my appliance would be ready in 4-6 weeks. 7 weeks after my visit I called to get a status on my order.

That is when I was told my order was not placed by their team and the earliest they could see me was in June - over 4 months from my fitting date. I requested details on what happened and politely asked how they could work with me to correct their error. Crystal would not provide any details and told me I was offered the earliest possible appointment. I asked Crystal to please keep my order on hold, since they had not placed it, while I contact my referring physician about the issues and decide how to proceed.

Crystal called me back 5 minutes later and left a voicemail stating that I would owe $500 if I do not proceed with the appliance fitting appointment in June. I am working with my physician to make sure future patients don't have my experience. Poor customer service from the staff and zero accountability for their errors.
