Great place! The people are very friendly and put me at ease. I feel like a valued patient and not just another number. Their building is very nice and designed for your comfort. There’s a separate place for billing and payment after your appointment (separate from the main check in) as well as a consult room.

The dental assistants also give you a numbing gel before giving the shot which helps greatly. Dr Seaverson gave me an honest second opinion after I consulted my former dentist and he recommended what to do that was best for me, not what would cost the most. Really love this place and highly recommend it.

I came into this office to get a second opinion on my daughter's teeth. From a different office only 3 months prior, I was advised to repair 6 cavities and that I should start Healthy Start right away. When I visited Tooth By the Lake, they suggested fixing only two and the remaining were either so small or on teeth that will fall out soon. He also said she isn't an ideal candidate for starting my daughter on Healthy Start and that orthodontics will suit her better when she 's old enough.

Thankfully, we were able to get into the office the following day to repair her two cavities, and the Doctor was excellent with my 9 year old. Not that I want her to have more cavities, but I'm glad I have someone I can rely on. The honesty and integrity was a breath of fresh air and saved me *thousands* since both providers are out of network. We'll be bringing our entire family to this practice and are so happy to have found them!

I come from Sioux Falls SD to go to Tooth By the Lake and I can't stress enough how phenomenal this establishment is. From the moment you walk in to the lobby a professional staff greets you warmly to sit in a very nice and cozy waiting room. You get called to the exam/procedure room and are greeted by the dental tech and then the Dr. In my case Dr Kari.

My whole family and I will be reoccurring clients to this establishment. Thank you to all and keep up the amazing work.

Disappointing Experience – Lack of Transparency and Accountability in Poor Handling of Young Child’s Dental Visit I brought my 3. 5-year-old in for a very specific concern: visible decay on his two top front teeth. When I booked the appointment, I clearly explained why we were coming in. It was even noted in their records. Yet after the exam, the doctor (who is also the owner) told me they don’t treat decay on those specific teeth in children this young. This was incredibly frustrating. If that’s their policy, I should have been informed before the appointment—not after I’d arranged childcare for my other children, brought my son in, and paid for a visit that was ultimately unhelpful. Had I known, I would’ve gone straight to a pediatric dentist and saved time, money, and stress. Now I will have to pay again for an exam as dentist offices don’t transfer exams.

What was even more confusing, is that I had to get a pediatric referral for my 1. 5 year old for an injury at the same time I made the appointment for my 3. 5 year old meaning we were already discussing pediatric dentistry and what they do and do not treat. When I spoke with the office manager, I received a series of shifting, contradictory explanations: * First, she claimed they maybe they didn’t know why we were coming in (despite the notes that were checked after). The notes themselves were not thorough or true to my clear concerns. * Then she suggested it might have been due to my child’s temperament—though he was calm, cooperative, and sat still the entire time (I even have videos because I was so proud of him). * Finally, after consulting the Dr who is also the owner, she said he simply doesn’t treat decay in those teeth in 3. 5-year-olds—which raises the question of why they accepted the appointment in the first place. While they did offer a vague apology “for any potential miscommunication” and referred us elsewhere, it felt like a deflection of responsibility rather than a genuine effort to acknowledge or resolve the issue.

There was no accountability, no meaningful apology, and no attempt to make things right beyond the bare minimum. This experience was deeply disappointing. We were hoping to find a trusted holistic dental office for our entire family—but this showed a lack of transparency, integrity, and patient care. I would not recommend this practice, especially for families with young children. Ask very specific questions upfront—because they won’t volunteer the information you need. We won’t be back.
