One of the most aggressive sales environments I've ever been in! I have been into this dentist twice and I think they tried to upsell me various services every few minutes the entirety of both visits. I went back a second time hoping that my first visit was an “off day” for them but it’s now clear that their office processes are designed to maximize upsells from the moment you fill out your intake forms and during every visit after.
Last but not least, the filling they did for me lasted ~2 weeks.

Dr Mimi is the nicest dentist I have ever had. She makes sure you’re comfortable, talks you through what’s happening and doesn’t make you feel bad for whatever is going on in your mouth. All of the staff is kind and helpful

Not one to bother with reviews, but I am going to with this one as several months later, they still managed to involve themselves some how, some way. They refused another dentist office my X-Rays. Normally you'd think that would be some sort of privacy violation they are protecting me for, but this is typically common practice between medical offices to exchange records. Even if we assume good faith for privacy reasons, they did not call me to confirm this to authorize the transfer of these records as a patient (also normal practice) and instead I had to mess with it during my appointment at the new office. Just like when attempting to cancel that pesky membership designed to be impossible to cancel, they provide the health care version of that. Luckily, I remembered I manually requested them months ago so I did not have to bother with it. Since you'll read this, if you state privacy reasons, you are supposed to contact the patient for authorization and send them over, but I have my doubts that is the real reason (it would not make sense to admit that so we will never know). Rewind to the actual visit months ago I originally wasn't going to post about: Front desk and staff was nice but as others stated, it is clear this dentist is here to maximize profit. Normally, I'd say I expect this from any company or business, but when you are dealing with invasive procedures or anything that could alter a patients physical appearance, you should hold yourself to a high moral standard. Without hesitation, this dentist suggested to replace 4 of my teeth with veneers without any alternative, iterative recommendations of fillings or in depth reasoning why a veneer made more sense. This strategy would of costed about $4,000 out of pocket if I went through with it, and obviously, blowing away multiple teeth that could be saved with fillings for the sake of profit is pretty disgusting to me.
At the time, I did not think much of it and assumed good faith. I proceeded with a filling for one of my molars and a teeth whitening session that was successful and done professionally. I proceeded with a new dentist without disclosing this to limit bias and observed closely as they properly assessed the situation, explained the options at my disposal. After they did the filling (with a total bill of 67$), I mentioned this story. They too thought it was odd to suggest veneers like this, especially to someone under the age of 30 with salvageable teeth. Also, for what its worth, this same office had disclosed to me that within the past month over 12 patients have moved from Urban Dental group. Most of us don't bother to post, but I would imagine if more people took the time this office would probably be 2. 5/5 stars. I am no lawyer but I'd also say this practice should be illegal, however I don't doubt there is probably a lot of discretion for 'strategy'. I feel bad for people that do not understand the recommendations or have the confidence to challenge it, lose thousands of dollars and potentially alter their appearance because this dentist wants to stack up that sweet 1099 income. If this sounds like you, and you have a similar suggestion from this dentist like I did--it is NOT you.
Get a second opinion, you do NOT have to take their recommendations. Most health care professionals in the United States are incentivized to push expensive procedures, especially dentists. Unfortunately, some dentists only want to maximize the total cost of time spent in those chairs and conduct unnecessary, invasive procedures on your original teeth that you will never get back. I hope you read this and change your strategy. Recommending a 29 year old blow away 4 perfectly fine teeth for a couple thousand dollars should make you feel morally bankrupt. I can only imagine the stories that we don't see from your other patients. Two stars because the staff you hired is great and support themselves/family from the money you pay them, otherwise I'd gladly hand you a 1/5. Take care.

I've been seeing Dr M Harvey as my primary dentist for several years now and I trust her completely. She's kind, knowledgeable and compassionate in providing care. I just had a recent routine visit and was very happy with the service! My dental hygienist was so thorough and gentle. I highly recommend this clinic! They keep it clean. And the front desk staff are super friendly!
