⚠️don’t do it ⚠️ I almost wasted my time and money here, they’re so unprofessional and will take advantage of you. I had my appointment set and ready to get my wisdom teeth removed. The day of my appointment 30 minutes before they called me to let me know they were going to have to reschedule. Keep in mind my uber was already on its way, I had already took off a week of work, and I had already had my babysitter taking care of my kid. 30 MINUTES.

When I got the call come to find out the doctor wasn’t feeling well since the day before but he wanted to try to keep working. So you’re telling me 1. You could’ve told me this yesterday? 2. You admitted to attempting to do my surgery while not feeling well? So unprofessional I’m glad they tried to reschedule me cause NO I will not come here and will tell people how unprofessional and a waste of time/money they are. Go elsewhere!

Sorry, this is long, but I wish I could have read something like this myself when I ended up considering another clinic. If you’re trying to figure out who to go to for wisdom teeth, let me save you some trouble. Just go HERE and see Dr. Rasmussen. (Though, I’m sure he’s just as skilled at every other procedure he performs as well. ) In fact, he’s so good at what he does, that taking my first three children to him, gave me a false sense of security about wisdom teeth removal. I didn’t realize how bad it *can* be with other clinics, and that the *reason* my other kids sailed through recovery was actually just because of Rasmussen. So when my fourth son needed his removed, and another clinic could do it sooner (weirdly, the same day as a consult - should have been my first clue) I felt pressured and we were in a hurry to get it done, so we ended up using that doctor. Later, I found out this was a general dentist that only does wisdom teeth. Not an MD/oral surgeon like Rasmussen.

Granted, the other clinic was a little less money. But it wasn’t a hugely significant price difference than what we had previously paid with Dr. Rasmussen. He’s already pretty competitively priced for Northern Utah. ESPECIALLY, when you take into consideration the fact that you’re getting an MD, and not just a dentist. What I realized later, was that I actually *overpaid* for “dental services,” when I could have gotten a very decent price on a “medical procedure” with Rasmussen. I won’t go further into our experience at the other clinic because it’s not really relevant to this review, but just know I have now witnessed the difference between Rasmussen’s office and these wisdom teeth removal factories. I have seen both sides of this weird wisdom teeth world. Don’t do what I did and get roped into an appointment where you impulsively say yes because of scheduling and a quick look at the 1500+ reviews at another clinic. Those guys offer Amazon gift cards for those reviews!! We got a shady text after it was all over.

🤦‍♀️ And really, I don’t want a doctor that tries to perform 10 million procedures a day. I want a doctor that will take the necessary time to assess every case individually and isn’t trying to recoup costs in volume. Anyway, I am incredibly confident you will get better care from Rasmussen and his staff, than from any of these other clinics. We certainly did, the other three times we went to him! Everything was better; the day of the procedure, the follow up, how you basically get to see what’s going on with your child/patient during the removal- something a lot of other clinics don’t allow, an overall better patient experience, and definitely a better recovery. So this is really *three* 5 star reviews because we had such a great experience at Utah Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with all three other kids. Unfortunately, a different clinic and doctor did not produce the same result with our number four. Now I am certain the difference was Rasmussen. And his nurse, Amy, is fantastic too!! 😉 So kind and helpful. She went above and beyond to help us out with some issues our fourth son was experiencing from the other clinic. Who does that?? So wishing we had just stuck with their office!

I price checked and this place was the best price for wisdom teeth. There was a short wait in the lobby, the staff was great, very friendly. They run an effective office and appointments are quick. They were great with my son. We saw Dr Rasmussen and he was great.

Dr. Burton did my wife’s wisdom teeth removal. The surgery and recovery went fine, but he had very little bedside manner. My wife was in an immense amount of pain due to an impacted tooth. Luckily, we were able to get in quickly. My wife struggles with IV’s and when it came time for her to get it inserted she was trying to breathe through the stress, and Dr.

Burton rushed her by saying something along the lines of “I don’t have all day. Either we do this now or we’ll have to reschedule. ” I understand surgeons run on tight schedules, but it felt as though my wife’s extreme pain and anxiety were completely disregarded. If you go here, and value a comfortable and caring environment, I would recommend avoiding Dr. Burton.
