My mother has late stage dementia and needed to have a tooth extracted. Dr. Barrick and his team took such incredible care of my mom I was absolutely in awe. I would highly recommend this practice.

Don't go here if you're in pain. Waste of time and they just tell you things Google can tell you for free. Take Tylenol and ibuprofen for your nerve pain after extraction. Bonus now they gave me a take home oral rinse 6 days after the extraction of a tooth with infected nerve. Not like you could tell your patients the day of surgery about that information. Last time I had both bottom wisdom teeth removed I had both sides get infected after the surgery. After the second infection they offered me a rinsing device for the surgical site.

Why wasn't I given preventative care day one!? Why do you insist on patients waiting until they are in severe pain to offer solutions!? How much do you charge for pain and suffering? Uva employees sure love to talk down to their patients and make them feel like their pain management is a joke. Call us if it doesn't help. When after hours so I can go to emergency and owe thousands? Thanks what a joke of patient care. Get them out and on to the next wallet. Edit: I literally told the dentist I had the exact pain and swelling tight jaw from my last wisdom teeth infections. He ignored my concerns even as I explained to him I had no reduction in pain 6 days after extraction. I asked for antibiotics which gave me relief last operation in two days.

He refused and after I called twice I finally got a prescription for antibiotics 5 days after the followup appointment. Had relief within two days of taking antibiotics after being at a 9-10 pain level for 13 days straight. Absolutely ridiculous how the head dentists treat their patients. All the people that I used to see have retired and wow the rest of the people who cared about their work must have left with them because that was a horrible experience. I've never had a tooth extraction cause me more pain after the surgery then before I went in.

After I jumped through hoops to get them my referral that they insisted on having e-faxed, and not paper copy. I had to wait 4 weeks just to get a call back saying my referral was declined because they aren’t taking new patients, after weeks of me calling and asking about my status. 4weeks in review of my status to be approved just to tell me they can’t help me. And now my hire date has to be pushed back because I have no teeth in the front.

And they are the only surgeons that my insurance takes. I’m out of options and soon they will be. I have a friend at the BBB on the case.
