Detailed Introduction

The VA Medical Center - Dental Clinic on Baltimore Green Street is an integral part of the broader VA Maryland Health Care System, located at 10 N Greene St, Baltimore, MD 21201. This facility is a key provider of dental services specifically tailored to the needs of eligible U.S. Veterans. Beyond routine dental care, the clinic is notable for its one-year Dental General Practice Residency Program. This accredited program, adhering to the standards of the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, offers graduate dentists an opportunity to significantly advance their clinical skills and dental education. The residency program places a strong emphasis on providing comprehensive dental care, with a particular focus on diagnostic techniques and therapeutic skills for medically complex patients. This involves a high level of interaction between dental residents and other medical professionals within the hospital setting. Residents gain supervised practical experience in various areas, including preoperative evaluation, assessment of behavioral and pharmacologic techniques, patient monitoring, airway management, and the recognition and treatment of anesthetic emergencies. The program also covers emergency dental treatment and prepares residents to effectively function within interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including consultation and referral processes. The Baltimore VA Medical Center, as a whole, is an acute care medical and surgical hospital offering a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, and primary care services in addition to the dental clinic. These services include mental health care, women's health care, and specialized treatments for various conditions. The medical center is committed to providing safe, quality, and compassionate care to Veterans, with resources available for patient advocacy, medical records, billing, pharmacy services, and a 24/7 Health Connect line. The dental clinic specifically aims to provide multidisciplinary oral health care for a diverse patient population, including those with developmental disabilities, cognitive impairment, and complex medical conditions, ensuring modified dental routines when necessary to meet individual needs.

Arrive early and still over 1 hour wait before being seen. They really need to do better. This is terrible service. They act as if people don’t have work.

Imposible to make an appointment at VA dental. You have to leave a message and wait for months. If you cannot operationally operate this facility your need to close it and stop offering poor service.
