Detailed Introduction

Valleygate Dental Surgery Center Charlotte is a dedicated ambulatory dental surgery center located at 8415 Medical Plaza Dr, Charlotte, NC 28262. It serves as a specialized facility for dentists, including pediatric dentists, oral surgeons, and other specialists, to perform procedures under general anesthesia. The center is designed to provide a safe and controlled environment for patients, particularly children and adults with complex dental needs, behavioral issues that require sedation, or extensive procedures that necessitate general anesthesia. The Charlotte center, which opened in March 2019, is part of the broader Valleygate Dental Surgery Centers network. It is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and has achieved the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' "deemed status," signifying its commitment to high standards of healthcare and patient safety. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including advanced monitoring and life support equipment, digital x-rays, and integrated electronic health records. The operating rooms are specifically designed for dental use, featuring hydraulic dental chairs and delivery systems. A key aspect of their service is the presence of a dedicated team of anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) who are experienced and trained in pediatric care, ensuring continuous patient monitoring and safety throughout the sedation process. Valleygate Dental Surgery Center aims to make complex dental treatments accessible and less stressful for patients who might otherwise struggle with traditional in-office procedures. They offer a solution for patients who require deep relaxation or unconsciousness to receive necessary dental services comfortably and completely. This includes wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, and other oral and maxillofacial procedures that benefit from a hospital-like setting with full anesthesia support.

I took my three year-old daughter to Valley dental I was referred from friendly dental office at Valley dental we went in at 8 o’clock. Our appointment was at 8:45. They didn’t start until 10. Her nurses were very nice when the doctor came in. We went over the procedure, he told me it could be up to Silver but he wasn’t sure until he takes an x-ray. I was told by another nurse that he would be with her the whole time and for me to wait in the lobby 30 minutes passed by. I asked the front desk representative about the status of the x-rays. She pulled it up on the computer said that they got done and coming back now to talk to me. I wait another 10 minutes. I asked her ma’am what’s going on? I’m still waiting for the results and if it’s more than two silver fillings, we don’t want to proceed with the procedure. She told me to hold on. She’s going to to get doctor here for me to talk to I heard over the intercom that room too is asleep/under anesthesia and I just figured that was my daughter in there this point I am extremely frustrated. I was confused why they started without talking to me about the x-ray results so the doctor came out said that she’s already under anesthesia. I said when Dr. William hasn’t came and told me the results of her x-ray, do you know how many silver she’s going to need? She couldn’t confirm if they did the x-ray or not.

So then the lady at the front desk called back to the operating room to see how many they were doing, and I didn’t want to proceed without the x-ray results and if it was more than two silver fillings. My daughter is only three years old. Why would I want all of those silver feelings in her mouth? after the procedure was over, they had told me to go to the office to wait for Dr. Williams to come out to talk about the procedure. Hey, then enter the room saying why am I giving these people a hard time we went over the procedure? I wasn’t coming out to talk to you about anything that I signed the papers agreeing that I’m letting him do the best he can that this was not Burger King I can’t have it my way. moment. I told him I said you told me you were coming out here after the x-ray, let me know. even the front desk lady said that you were on the way to come talk to me. He finally ended up telling me that he only had to do two caps and he continue to say I need to stop giving these people a hard time I’m bout to give you a hard time with this review, I finally got to see her nurses had told me she had stopped breathing during the procedure due to her being congested. She was coughing nonstop when I picked her up they had to put a tube down to her lungs saying that her vital sounds were good. We’re not sure where this came from. Maybe she starting to get sick now or at the end of a cold. I noticed that her nose is bleeding. They said that’s normal. I was so upset and confused why they didn’t Dr.

Williams telling me that in his meeting if I’m giving all these people such a hard time when he can’t communicate correctly and efficiently. I just wanted to grab my daughter and get the hell up out of there. My daughter had blood on her neck blood on her shirt the whole entire ride home for 30 minutes straight saying she can’t hear me. She had finally calm down and when I looked back to check up on her. Her eyes were so puffy like she was having an allergic reaction, looking like two black eyes, she took her bandage off of her hands. You can see where they injected her and bruised. She got markings on her shoulders. Please don’t send your child here especially if you’re under the care of Dr. Ross Williams. this whole experience was traumatizing. I don’t want anyone to take the child here. Please get a second opinion somewhere else they told me that they were gonna check up on her today and we still haven’t heard anything. I pray nothing is wrong with her. I definitely do not want to see that doctor ever again or go to this facility again.

Our team: the dentist was Dr. Hwang, anesthesiologist was Dr. Stolldorf, nurse was AnnaGrace. Everyone was excellent. They helped my son, age 2.

5, and he is all better and all good. He recovered well after the procedure which I’m sure varies from person to person but I feel their excellent medical care and clear instructions for afterward gave me immense relief and I had nothing to worry about. I am so thankful they were able to get my son in and take care of him.

The procedure went really well for my 7year old son. I was so nervous for him to be put to sleep this was the first time we had to do this. Everyone was great, the Dr was done so fast I didn’t have time to worry. Please do not worry at all, your child will be in great hands. I hope this review help because I read all the reviews before we went.

If you’re the worried mom and reading all the reviews please read mine. My son, 3 years old, nonverbal and autistic had to have a dental procedure. It was his first time with anesthesia and being away from me. Due to his original Dr having an accident and couldn’t do the procedure we were told he would have Dr. Cecilia Sun Hwang performing it. I was very nervous because I had never met her and more importantly she had never met my son.

Let me just say I am so beyond grateful we had Dr. Hwang. She was absolutely phenomenal, went above and beyond, so kind and so gentle with my son. She answered any and every question I had. She wasn’t your average Dr. She was professional but she’s the kind of Dr that is very family oriented (which I loved about her).

My son has 4 white capped teeth in the front and some silver teeth in the back, his smile looks absolutely beautiful. I can’t remember the anesthesiologist name but he was also wonderful with my son. The nurses and staff were so kind. They really have a great team of people. I highly recommend this place especially Dr Hwang and the nurses that were there that day.
