I appreciate the decision that Dr. Jon Richter made to be a part of the practice. I also appreciate the accommodations made at other offices to accomodate me in times of need. Kudos to Dr. James Cohen at Webster Portage Park! The periodontists within the practice have also had a positive effect on my dental care. I have found the practice to be accomodating and mindful, when necessary.

Predatory - Stay Away! First-time patient coming in for a routine retainer repair: I called ahead and confirmed the treatment and payment for my repair ($75). Once onsite, following his initial inspection, I confirmed with the dental hygienist again that I would like it repaired instead of replaced, he verbally confirmed $75 out of pocket. Following my repair, I was charged double ($150) because instead of mending my wire, the Dr. Havel decided to remove and add new wire. I wasn't consulted. There was no conversation to inform me of my options.

This experience felt murky and deceiving. Oh, and also I waited over an hour. My appointment was at 9:00 and it wasn't until nearly 10:20 that I was seen. Lastly, I called later in the afternoon following my appointment to better understand why there was a change made to my requested repair without my consent. An assistant took my message for her manager and I asked to receive a call back. I never did.

People put off making medical appointments because of behavior like this. I almost cancelled my appointment the morning of, not because I was scared of the dentist, but because I was worried about being bamboozled out of more money without my consent. Patients deserve a fully transparent process and to be fully informed of their options and the cost of each. Please do better!

I've been coming here for years but there is an amazing new patient special so my partner came for the first time and is now a huge fan as well. There was a bit of confusion regarding the billing on his first visit and Katy went above and beyond to hunt down the source of the error and help to resolve it. Everyone I've worked with here has been really lovely and I highly recommend it.
