Detailed Introduction

Weddell Pediatric Dentistry, also known as Weddell Pediatric Dental Specialists, is a prominent dental practice located at 3737 N Meridian St Apt 100, Indianapolis, IN 46208. The clinic is deeply committed to delivering high-quality pediatric dental care, focusing on prevention and fostering a positive relationship between children and dentistry from an early age. The practice is led by highly qualified pediatric dentists, including Dr. James A. Weddell, who has a distinguished background in pediatric dentistry, holding a DDS and MS degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry and having served over 30 years as a full-time faculty member at Indiana University School of Dentistry and Riley Hospital for Children. The team also includes Dr. Lauren Weddell and Dr. Nicole Weddell, indicating a family-oriented practice with multiple specialists. All pediatric dentists at Weddell Pediatric Dentistry are board-certified and have completed two additional years of training after dental school to cater to the unique dental needs of children. Weddell Pediatric Dentistry offers a comprehensive array of services tailored for young patients. This includes preventative care such as regular examinations, cleanings, and fluoride treatments, which are central to their mission of preventing dental diseases. They also provide restorative dentistry, addressing issues like cavities with fillings and crowns. For children who may experience anxiety, sedation options and even hospital-based dentistry are available to ensure comfort and maximize the child's experience. The clinic also handles emergency dental care for children. A key philosophy of the practice is to create a "child-friendly" environment, making dental visits enjoyable and stress-free. They prioritize developing trust with their young patients and educating both children and parents on maintaining optimal oral health for a lifetime of healthy smiles. The clinic strives for an open atmosphere of trust and respect with its clientele, welcoming questions and concerns. While parents are generally welcome in the operatory for routine exams and cleanings, for operative treatment, a policy is in place to optimize safety and allow for a closer rapport between the child and the dental team.

The office staff is pretty rude and unpleasant too much sass and attitude. . The nurse was rude and condescending as well as she inconvenienced me and my situation with my kids. Its a lot I could say but Ill keep it short and say they aren’t what they used to be a few years ago.

Not to mention even the manager completely disregarded my experience dealing with staff. & they didn’t interact with my kids or make them feel at ease. Working in dentistry supposed to be something you Love, a passion something you enjoy doing but instead they’re there for the check and it shows.

The dentist Nicole Wendell and the office staff are very sassy, rude, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. I’m 30 years old and was a patient as a child and loved that location. My kids experience not the same whatsoever ! I wouldn’t recommend a dog to this office!

I really thought he had retired or I would have left this review years ago. He took medicaid so I took my daughter years ago, he did a ton of work on her teeth and finally told me she had 6 more cavities which I couldn't believe since we had been so careful. Took her to a new dentist and she had zero cavities and has had none since either (15 years). He did a lot of work on her and I'm sure alot of it was not even needed.

Just a money grab. Have ran into other people saying this too.

Worst experience ever. Was referred to this dentist by our regular dentist for some work on a painful cavity for my 6 year old future stepson. Went to Dr. Weddell and was told that he had something like 12 cavities requiring a tooth to be extracted and several (6-8) crowns and a couple of fillings. We made the appointment to come back in a week because they wouldn't do any work on the day they did the examination, despite having had an x-ray of the most problematic tooth sent to them in advance by our regular dentist, and taking new x-rays the day of the exam. Upon our return visit, we mentioned that we'd spoken to a family friend who was shocked at the extent of dental work recommended and who suggested we get a second opinion before doing the non-emergency work.

Upon hearing this, the dentist stated that she did not want to do any work on our son because she didn't feel comfortable with us even MENTIONING that we were CONSIDERING a second opinion for the remainder of the dental work. Despite our protesting and trying to reassure her that we were NOT questioning the need for the more urgent work, someone in the office loudly stated "No, we're not doing anything!" Needless to say, we consider this extremely unprofessional and rude. If a dentist or any doctor will flat out refuse to treat a patient with an emergent medical issue simply because they dare question why a 6 year old would need 7 crowns and multiple fillings, then maybe they shouldn't be practicing medicine/dentistry. My fiance obtained Hoosier Healthwise (basically medicaid, as far as I understand) coverage for her son (my soon-to-be stepson) and I can't help but wonder if this need for a massive amount of dental work is a way to pad the pockets of the dentist. If you're competent in your assessment, then don't fear a second opinion. .

We will NEVER go back and I would caution others. . .
