I have been a patient at Westside Dental for several years and assumed I was getting good care. The team had me on an every-3-month cleaning schedule. The last cleaning took only 20 minutes. I requested shifting to every 4 months. Dr. Winter reluctantly approved that schedule.

I then had an interaction with one of the staff I considered so inappropriate and uncomfortable that I decided to change to another dental practice. On my first check-up the new dentist, Ingrid Hansson, told me my teeth were healthier than 95% of her patients my age and that a cleaning every 6 months would be more than sufficient. Why was I on a 3 month schedule at Westside Dental? I also referred my husband, an equally long patient of Westside Dental, to Dr. Hansson. On his first visit she said he was close to losing half his teeth because of the degree of enamel loss, probably from undiagnosed GERD. She advised he would need many crowns, likely 8 or more if he wanted to save his teeth.

Westside Dental never mentioned this to him and led him to believe his 3 month cleanings was all well and good. They did say he would need perhaps 2 crowns within the next year and at a cost 50% greater than Dr. Hansson's office. I am outraged by this shoddy and over-priced care from this dental practice.

The staff at Westside Dental are incredibly compassionate- from the front desk all the way to the dentist himself. I have high anxiety around dental procedures and the staff work with me each time to ensure I know what to expect BEFORE the procedures. They check in to ensure I’m comfortable and give me every opportunity to ask questions or take a break if I need it.

I never feel judged or like a burden, simply supported. Thank you, Westside Dental!

Before moving to Olympia, I had been with the same dentist for 35 years so I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Winter's practice where I feel the same level of confidence. He and his entire staff make me feel comfortable and well-cared for. They are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I certainly feel I made the right choice for my new dentist!
