I’ve had my Braces off for awhile now and a permanent retainer was installed in the top and bottom of my mouth. I also wear clear retainers at night as well. I was told with the permanent retainers my gap would never return hence is why I got them. Well I notice day by day my gap is returning and my teeth are shifting by the time I put retainers in at the end of the night. I called the office and I spoke with Tracy on last Wednesday January 3, 2018 and she said that my gal should not have come back and it definitely sounds like something is going on.

She said because of this she would wave my office visit fee. I was fine with that. She told me the office closed early that day due to inclement weather and she would call me the following Thursday to schedule an appointment. Monday comes along and still nothing. I called Monday afternoon and the receptionist told me she would have someone return my call.

I finally spoke with Janice and she said that the office manager gave me the incorrect information and that I would have to pay the office visit fee. Don’t fall for the permanent retainers this summer they were poking my gums and I had to get them fixed and because it was done at no charge Janice said I had to pay for this visit. I would totally understand if these were things I controlled but I didn’t push the retainers in my gums and it’s not my fault the permanent retainers are doing the job they were intended to do such as stop a gap for returning. I usually don’t do reviews but it’s very disheartening because of the amount of money that I paid for the braces and retainers.

My daughter received Braces from Dr. White-Brown about three years ago. Initially, the office staff was great, however, this was very short lived. The staff members were unprofessional and rude from the front of the office to the back of the office. Unfortunately, we were too deep in the process to change now. Thankfully, the braces were removed early last year. After the braces were removed, they placed a permanent retainer on the upper front teeth. She was scheduled for a cleaning appt with her regular dentist. Regrettably, it was discovered that one of her molars had an internal cavity. Based on the location of the internal cavity, the dentist informed me that it was caused by the braces being tightened too much, which resulting in impeding blood flow to the tooth. So, at age 15, my daughter had to have a root canal. Two months later, she returned to the dentist, after complaining about something sticking her in the mouth.

The dentist discovered that the permanent retainer, on the upper front teeth, had broken and the wires were sticking in the gum. He referred her back to the Orthodontist. Reluctantly, I called Dr. White-Brown's office to schedule an appointment to check the retainer. I was informed, by the receptionist, there was an appointment fee of $249 that would be required before I could schedule an appointment. I questioned if I owed a balance and was informed that I did not owe anything, however, this fee was required since my daughter was not a current patient. I paid the fee and an appointment was scheduled. My daughter arrived at the appointment and was taken to the back of the office for an exam. The doctor examined her and she was told that the glue just need to be removed from the retainer and informed to wear her retainer at night. She agreed, but no one began to remove the glue. Finally, she was asked to go to the finance office. She left her exam chair and was escorted to the finance office.

The financial person told her to call her parents and tell them that she would need $36 before any services could be performed on her. My 16yo daughter informed the finance person that her parent was in the lobby of the building. Upon speaking with the finance person, we were informed that another $36 was required before any services would/could be rendered. Keep in mind that there had been no problems with the financial portion of the office visits while my daughter was actively receiving services. So, the glue that was placed by this office, couldn't be removed until $36 more was paid. . . after the $249 that had previously been paid??? That's ridiculous!! Unfortunately, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. . . PLEASE CHOOSE ANOTHER ORTHODONTIST OFFICE THAT CARES FOR YOUR CHILD AND NOT ONLY ABOUT MONEY!!!!

Staff was very unprofessional my last visit a month ago. My review for that is at their harbison location. I came back to give an update. Due to their lack of professionalism and outrageous prices, I decided to seek other places to continue treatment. Happy to say I found an orthodontic in the Lexington area. Very pleasant/professional people and clean office. They also offered me a lower cost on treatment including additional work at little cost. So I'm spending $1000 less with additional work included at no cost.

They gave me a break down of what I'm paying for not just a random number like Dr. Brown office. I advise anybody to shop around. Find out what's best for you and your budget. They are working for You! These plenty of people in the area who are competitors. Let them know you've been seeking and will continue if it doesn't sound good. Do not settle!

I am a long time patient (along with all of my children) of Dr. Kerry White Brown (2 times orthodontic treatments for me. . . my last round in 2016) and to prevent a 3rd time expensive treatment regimen, I opted to have a "permanent, bonded" retainer fitted to my teeth. (Actually when I chose the "permanent, bonded" option, I thought it would apply to all my teeth but the "permanent, bonded" retainer is only applied to the top front 4 teeth. Well, I soon started experiencing teeth separation at the top and then the "permanent, bonded" retainer started disintegrating with the wires poking out and everything.

Well, I called the office and explained my situation and was told that it would cost me $247. 00 for an office visit. I said to the receptionist that "as a former patient of Dr. Kerry White Brown (2 times over), would I not be granted a "complimentary" visit because of my situation"? She said "No, the cost is $247. 00 for the office visit and that does not include the treatment to correct the matter. . .

but it would have been covered, if you had purchased the additional insurance. . . . I don't remember that option being offered to me but I thought I was not gonna need any additional work with a "permanent, bonded" retainer". I was so disappointed (actually angry) with the response because with a "permanent, bonded retainer" I thought I only had to do my regular cleanings to maintain the alignment of my teeth. Well, just a notice to all former patients, do not expect any "complimentary visits or treatments" when things go wrong!
