Detailed Introduction

The Whiteside County Community Health Clinic (WCCHC), located at 1300 W 2nd St, Rock Falls, IL 61071, is a vital healthcare resource serving the community of Whiteside County and surrounding areas in Illinois. Established in 2006, WCCHC was created to address the critical need for accessible medical, dental, and behavioral health services. It operates under the Whiteside County Health Department, signifying its public health mission and commitment. As a federally funded community health clinic, WCCHC prioritizes providing comprehensive primary and preventative care without boundaries. This means they do not deny services based on a person's race, ethnicity, gender identity, national origin, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or, crucially, inability to pay. To ensure affordability, WCCHC accepts a wide range of payment options, including Children's Health Insurance Programs (CHIP), Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance. For uninsured or underinsured patients, a sliding fee scale is available, with a minimum fee of $25 per visit, based on family size and income for those under 200% of the federal poverty level. The clinic offers a broad spectrum of services, including: Primary Medical Care: General medical care for all ages, including physicals, preventative health, and management of chronic conditions. Dental Care: Preventative and comprehensive dental treatment for children up to age 20, including cleanings, extractions, and restorations. For adults, basic dentistry is provided, though dentures, bridges, and braces are not offered. Behavioral Health Services: Therapies and support services for individuals experiencing emotional distress, mental health symptoms, and substance use disorders. Family Planning: Services related to reproductive health. Public Health Services: Integration with the broader Whiteside County Health Department's public health initiatives. 340B Discounted Medications: Access to more affordable prescription drugs. WCCHC is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals, including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Dentists, and Licensed Clinical Therapists. They aim to accommodate walk-ins and same-day appointments when possible, though calling for an appointment at (815) 626-2230 is recommended. The clinic integrates medical, dental, and behavioral health services within one accessible building, featuring 16 medical exam rooms, 10 dental operatories, and 4 behavioral health offices. In addition to its main facility, WCCHC also operates a mobile unit, fully handicap accessible and equipped with two medical exam rooms, a laboratory, and restrooms, which is utilized for services like school and sports physicals.

Dr. Sultana always addresses my needs with awesome care! Only issue I’ve had is the oral surgeon talks over you and doesn’t address my concerns as much and if you feel uncomfortable walking back out in the lobby in front of everybody else they WILL NOT give you a mask to cover your nose and mouth, I suggest bringing your own.

I haven't had any issues with a behavioral health or the nurses for that department. However I've been in excruciating pain with my teeth. I came to the dentist just to get my teeth pulled. My first appointment was in July. They looked at my teeth and did x-rays. Agreed the teeth need pulled. My next appointment was in late September.

Still in pain. They canceled after weeks of telling me not to cancel and do emergency pull. I managed to get a appointment after the dental receptionist hung up on me while I was having a panick attack from the knowledge I would have to wait longer in pain. The only reason was some people canceled. I was on my way up anyway to see what they could do. My teeth have been getting worse and causing more pain. Finally see the oral surgeon.

Looked at my teeth and x-ray said the same thing as the last to appointment then scheduled it. 15 mins max for a appointment that confirmed the last to. Nothing for the pain but gonna have to wait til almost the end of October. Might as well hit myself with a hammer til the tooth comes out with how long I've been in pain.

Tara and Dr. Whittaker were wonderful! I needed my wisdom teeth removed and my insurance only covered two at a time with local anesthesia, so I was naturally very nervous going in for both procedures (I’m very squeamish with dental stuff).

They never made me feel insecure about my whimpering and frequently checked to make sure I wasn’t in any pain (i whimpered a lot lmao) and the procedures only took about 10-15 minutes each! They even let me keep my teeth :3 I also come for my regular dentist Sultana who is equally amazing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for compassionate, down-to-earth, and efficient dental care :)

I don't have a lot of options with my dental insurance, but I'll gladly continue making the trip (an hour each way) to Whiteside County. The staff are friendly and efficient, care is excellent, results are top notch.
