My mother visited Dr. Meghana Prabha due to tooth pain and was primarily in need of a deep cleaning. However, instead of addressing that need, Dr. Prabha insisted on doing a filling—even though it wasn’t urgent or clearly necessary at that moment. She mentioned that the deep cleaning was pending insurance approval and suggested doing the filling in the meantime. We agreed, assuming the pain might be connected. Unfortunately, the filling was done poorly and actually caused more harm.

Dr. Prabha damaged my mother’s molar, which led to even more pain and discomfort that lasted for days. On top of that, the approval for deep cleaning took an unnecessarily long time. Frustrated, we went to another dentist in Palatine, who treated my mom with professionalism and care. To our surprise, he didn’t even charge us for the deep cleaning. This was in stark contrast to Dr. Prabha, who had emphasized that deep cleaning would involve a charge.

Overall, our experience with Dr. Meghana Prabha was disappointing. Not only was the treatment ineffective, but it also caused more pain and confusion. We ended up receiving far better care elsewhere—both medically and ethically. I would not recommend this dentist based on our experience.
