Since my last review on here for this dental office, I am writing this feedback after 10 months of going back to this office for continuity of my oral health care. Today I had my appointment for multiple fillings. Dr YAMAGUCHI is an expert dental provider. He is confident and does the job to the excellence. However, I am not sure because I didn’t question about this , I suspect his assistant was a rookie.

Dr showed her how to prep for the fillings on one side on one tooth and then he left rest of the filling prep for her to finish while he attended to another patient. So guess what happens, this assistant sat on a chair to get started and shifted the position of a tool she was using a few times, touched the light above a couple of times. After finishing one tooth, she turned off the light and left the room . When she returned after few mts said she needed to use bathroom. She had hard time putting back a new pair of gloves due to her hands were still wet.

Finally after a little back and forth she got the gloves on And started to work on the other side of the mouth on one tooth. Suddenly got up in a few seconds to get the doctor to finish the prep work. Lol I was left on the seat pretty much unattended 15 mts or more by this assistant!!! At one point when Dr was finished with all fillings and he asked the assistant for a floss, she handed him a short piece. She said to doctor in her old dental place , she learned to save by using small pieces of thread lol Doctor had her cut a longer piece Omg !!!! I wanted to express my dissatisfaction with today’s visit to someone before leaving but I was out of patience due to being there at the dental office for over one hour and having had the experience at the hands of a rookie dental assistant.

I can’t say enough great things about Dr Yamaguchi and the entire team! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and cared for. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient, and very accommodating!

Yamaguchi review The hygiene experiences are no different from any other dental offices. But treatment is different, one day I felt a bit sharp spot on my tooth, I realize I might lost a tiny piece on that tooth, at my cleaning appointment, hygienist confirmed and said I need a filing, so I booked my appointment, but at my filling appointment, I was told I have 3 teeth to be filled at this appointment, and 3 teeth to be filled at next appointment. I was very surprised. During the treatment, doctor Yamaguchi seemed very busy, he was needed everywhere, and he had to leave during my treatment and had me wait 15min ish for him to come back. After the first appointment, they had me come for a treatment consultation , at the consultation appointment, I was told I have another 3 teeth, 4 spots to be filled (there are 2 spots on one tooth). And after insurance, I needed to pay $176. 60, but when I come for my appointment, I paid $200.

60, and the treatment experience is even worse than first time. Doctor Yamaguchi still seemed very busy, he was jumping from patient to patient. He finished filling on tooth and had to leave for another patient, the assistant used a tube to suck saliva from my mouth, and I had to keep my mouth open for 10 min just to dry my mouth when doctor is not even working on my teeth, and then assistant just grabbed someone that passed by to keep filling my teeth, and that person didn’t do any introduction, I don’t know who was working on me. And she accidentally hurt the inside of my mouth while drilling in tooth. It’s not very serious, but I don’t think it’s supposed to happen. At the end when she was smoothing my teeth, finally doctor Yamaguchi came back and took over . After the appointment I compared the bill $200.

60 and the consultation estimate $176. 60, I called to find out why, first front desk told me because I had 4 teeth filled at that appointment. I said that’s different from what they told me before, then they changed their saying that it’s only an estimate and they need to wait until insurance company to pay them to know how much exactly I need to pay, if they overcharged, they’ll refund me. And I was tired of dealing with them, decided to change my dentist.
