He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Kansas where he graduated on the Dean's List and attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with high academic standing and was honored to represent his class as dental school president. After dental school, Dr. Saylor completed his advanced graduate study in orthodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.
