About
Dr. Cerqueira has wanted to be a dentist since she was 8 years old. Her passion for dentistry came from her father who began practicing dentistry in 1968. She would spend her after-school and summer afternoons helping out at her father's practice and dreaming of the day she would be a dentist herself. That day finally came in May of 2003, when she graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, where she was voted "Most Outstanding Dental Student" by her peers and professors. During her years at UNC, Dr. Cerqueira volunteered at the Murdock Center Dental Clinic for mentally challenged individuals. She was also invited to serve on the forensic dentistry identification team that covered a Charlotte, NC plane crash in 2003. She volunteered on the North Carolina Baptist Association Dental Bus for underserved individuals, and she was the first dental student to attend an international rotation in Florianopolis, Brazil. Upon graduating from UNC, Dr. Cerqueira went back to her hometown to practice with her father. Dentistry in a small town was exciting, allowing her to perform a wide variety of procedures. The ocean and the town she loved so much, however, were too far away. With that in mind, Dr. Cerqueira decided to open her own practice in Carolina Beach. She has been overwhelmed by the warm reception given to her and her style of dentistry by the community. Her practice has grown tremendously thanks to her patients' support and referrals. Today, she continues to strive to make every single one of her patients feel special by getting to know them and giving them the highest level of service. She enjoys offering different alternatives and solutions in order to create beautiful, healthy smiles and happy patients.
