About
Dr. Burton was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. The sixth of eight children, he learned early in his life from his siblings and single-parent mother to work hard to achieve his goals. Dr. Burton attended UNC Chapel Hill for his undergraduate degree in Chemistry with minors in Biology and Japanese, graduating with honors and entering Phi Beta Kappa honor society.Dr. Burton remained in Chapel Hill where he met his wife Ashlea Ross, a UNCG alumna and Greensboro native, and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from UNC School of Dentistry in 2017. While attending dental school, Dr. Burton was elected by classmates to serve as their representative on the American Student Dental Association and upon graduation he received the Student Leader in Organized Dentistry Award for his exceptional leadership in organized dentistry while at UNC.Dr. Burton completed an advanced education in general dentistry residency at the Fayetteville VA Medical Center where he felt fortunate to be able to serve our nations veterans and focus his training on dental implant placement, surgery, and restorative dentistry. He has enjoyed volunteering at Care Clinic in Fayetteville and The Dental Bus Ministry.Dr. Burton is thrilled to join the incredible team at Friendly Dentistry and he and his wife look forward to making Greensboro their home. He makes it his mission to put patients at ease in the dental chair, truly listen to their point of view, and develop a plan together to meet the goals the patient has for their oral health and smile. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, camping, ultimate Frisbee, chasing around his sassy daughter, volunteering at church, and playing Nintendo with friends.
