In my 66 years I've moved a lot, and seen a LOT of dentists. I thought a certain level of pain and discomfort was just part of the process. I can handle a high level of pain, and usually just put up with it, but I don't like it. Dr. Tenholder is truly painless. She numbs the surface of the area the needle will go into, and then tugs your lip with one hand while smoothly inserting the needle with the other. (Imagine the skill it takes to do that!?) THAT is the single most important skill. Everything else is secondary! I told her I don't want anyone but her to ever put a needle in my mouth. Her support staff is amazingly competent. Her procedures and science are world-class. (Truly! She is the head of a major dental science organization.) She explains things in great detail, and then if I still have trouble understanding, she says, "Well that tooth is jealous and wants to be like the ones beside him." Oh! Okay, I can understand that! Best. Dentist. On the planet!

Dr. Tenholder has been able to help our child more than any previous dentist. She has provided expert care from day one. The medical help our child has received from other professionals has reached a glorious crescendo since meeting Dr. Tenholder. She is incredibly smart, scientifically grounded, extremely caring, and has only our child's best interests in mind in each step of their treatment. Dr. Tenholder customizes the care of each patient based on their oral, facial, and bone structure and what functions each patient's mouth, tongue, throat, neck, etc. can or cannot do. She knows the science behind less-than-optimal functionality and, more importantly, knows the science behind helping the body become and do what it was divinely designed to do. She is so much more than a just a dentist. She is an extraordinary doctor of dentistry. She is a functional medicine professional. She is an artist, creating beauty inspired by and working with the structure of creation. She is a godsend!

It’s been a few years since I left this dentist and I’m still suffering the consequences of her poor work. She gave me a root canal that still hurts everyday. Two dentists have directed me to a root canal specialist to fix it, when they press up high on my gums it hurts and they say it’s a nerve that’s inflamed from that root canal. I also had one of the crowns she put in fall out shortly after while out at dinner. She talks on and on and seems so knowledgeable and nice which is why I stayed too long but wish I hadn’t. What finally made me leave was when she recommended a 6K orthodontic device be placed at the roof of my daughters mouth. She charged several hundred just to evaluate my daughter for this. I then took my daughter to an orthodontist who evaluated her for free, and told me she couldn’t figure out why the device had been recommended as she didn’t see any need for it. The orthodontist also recommended we have the spacer the dentist put in removed ASAP. This because if it was

I don't normally provide on-line reviews, simply because they are typically just a venue for passive aggressive people to attack people behind internet anonymity. With that said, I have been going to Dr. Tenholder for over 12 years, and never had a negative result with the quality of care. There is a little too much cross talk for my taste, but I also know it’s a destressing technique some dentist use. You should know that she is the ultimate perfectionist, don't go to her for a quick fix.

TMJ patients...be cautious. Very poor communication after initial visit and after the 450.00 consult is paid.

My daughter has felt so much better since seeing Dr.Tenholder. Her headaches have almost disappeared and and her joints feel much better after reducing the inflammation in her body caused by issues stemming from her teeth. ALF Therapy has been a blessing for us. I highly recommend Dr. Tenholder.

3 yrs later and experiencing previously non-existent symptoms which seem to be related to Dr. Tenholder’s work. If you choose to take a number in her office PLEASE RESEARCH her rhetoric and ask her DIRECT questions amidst her ‘word-soup’ approach to modalities and proposed care plan. I didn’t ask enough questions. Wolf in sheeps clothing metaphor applies when dealing with her and select individuals in her employ. I would not trust her opinions, or her recantations of past patient’s experiences.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tenholder for years. Always outstanding care and service. I happened upon this site when I googled her for her number. I feel compelled to leave a review in support MY dentist. I see three other written reviews all from other parts of the county... who goes to the dentist far from home? Anyway, she has been a great Dentist and her staff is great!
