Dr Constance Wentworth

I was referred by my Dentist to Dr. Constance Wentworth to have a Root Canal Procedure. After Dr Wentworth's Assessment of my tooth which included Radiological Studies, her assessment was that I did not need a Root Canal but needed a referral to a Periodontist.Dr Wentworth's assessment, planning and interventions were among the best that I have encountered and her interpersonal skills are excellent. She is one of the best Dentists that I have received Dental Care from.

She explained every step she took and the process was completely painless. If you need a root canal, go to her.

I surprised myself in finding that I am happy with my root canal procedure: (1) Dr. Wentworth was superbly skillful in every step of the procedure. (2) Dr. Wentworth summarized calmly and clearly at the start of each major step in the procedure in ways that surely calm the patient! (3) Excellent medical equipment for the procedure.

Went in for root canal. She is not a gentle doctor, nor very personable. Also, I asked if she would use a topical anesthetic before giving shots, she said no and jammed a very painful needle into the roof of my mouth. I have a tolerance for pain, this made me cry. For which I was handed a tissue. It has been many years since a dentist has not numbed the area before receiving a painful shot, and I can see no reason not too other than insurance incentives? Saving money? She was not gentle during the procedure, smashing my lip on my teeth at times. Finally, when it was done, my left eye was watering and droopy from the anesthetic, and I was in pain. I was told to go take ibuprofen. Really? Because the last root canal I had, I was given a mild and effective pain killer for 2 days. So I guess that was a money saving incentive as well. So the very expensive procedure over all was not very pleasant, and I would not recommend this Dr. to anyone but maybe a Marine.
