Since the summer of 1978, Dr. Schmid and Sandi have been committed to providing the best in dental care for the Freeport Community. Dr. Schmid completed his undergraduate requirements at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan in three years; advancing him directly into the Maywood Illinois Loyola School of Dentistry in 1974. Finishing his dental requirements early, he was able to complete an honors program in Endodontics and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery; graduating with honors in May 1978. He purchased the dental practice of retiring Loyola graduate Dr. Leland Reed, and began practicing General Dentistry in July. He and Sandi married in August after the completion of her B.S. Degree in Nursing. Sandi worked as a registered nurse at Freeport Memorial Hospital that fall, but soon joined the Practice as Office Coordinator and Manager. Being committed to working together as a team, Sandi later returned to school and received her A.S. Degree in Dental Hygiene from Harper College in 1989. Dr. Schmid is an active member in the U.S. Grant Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Schmid and Sandi believe strongly in Continuing Education and attend annually the Mid-Winter Dental Meetings held at the McCormick Place in Chicago each February.
