I've been coming to Dr. Dufera since before the pandemic. The office is really well run. I am never kept waiting for more than five minutes. Dr. Dufera is friendly and spends the time to answer questions. I have never felt rushed or pressured to do procedures that I don't need.

During the pandemic lockdown I went there for a routine cleaning and they asked me to come back a few weeks later for a ‘deep cleaning’. When I got their bill, the amount was absurd just for X-rays and cleanings. I called my insurer and they said SSS was trying to charge for weird costs like their staff’s PPE! So, I provided some additional paperwork and got my insurer to reconsider SSS’s claim. I thought the issue was over because my insurance covered all normal costs for two cleanings per year. But SSS actually sent me another bill with a balance nearly 2 years later!
I contacted SSS and they claimed that my insurance didn’t pay enough. I called my former insurer again and they said that SSS had submitted a new claim for the same visits with several errors. I’ve been going back-n-forth with SSS ever since asking for more information and they just send more invoices, threatening to take me to collections!
I strongly recommend avoiding this place and scrutinizing their bills!
Dr. Dufera is highly qualified and professional, and he cares about his patients' health and well-being.
Dr. Dufera is a very nice person, knowledgeable doctor, the front desk receptionist is kind. The office manager and others on staff aren’t as kind. Trying to build a rapport should be a two street between a patient and the management, not a one way street within management expectations. They will penalize you if you miss an appointment and don’t call ahead of time, even if it is an emergency. They will put you on a “same day basis,” which doesn’t guarantee you will get an appointment that will meet your schedule and needs. It’s almost like a probationary period until you stop missing or rescheduling appointments. This to me is a highly unfair practice.
I recommend Dr. Dufera to anyone I know who's looking for a dentist. He's calm, friendly, caring, fair, knowledgeable, and able to explain that knowledge to the patient very clearly. I've been going to him for 2 years, for a variety of reasons, and he has always upheld those high standards. Highly recommended!
